We recently received a letter from the owners of the above -
referenced property regarding the requirement by the City of
Miami Shores that the re- roofing of their home at the above
address must be done in conformity with the planning and zoning
board which would require tile shingles. The engineering report
enclosed in this letter indicates clearly that the current roof
structure could not withstand the weight of a cement tile roof.
Since this home was built at a date that was prior to the
enactment of your ordinance, I would request that you consider
strongly waiving the requirement in this case. If a variance is
necessary in order to avoid violation of the ordinance, please
advise and we will comply with whatever requirements the City
has.
I appreciate your help and attention to this matter.
