It shall sound a local trouble signal if the telephone service is interrupted for longer that 45 seconds and it shall transmit a signal indicating the loss of phone line service to the central station over the remaining phone line. A signal shall also be transmitted indicating the restoral of phone service. The control /communicator shall be able to report the loss of either phone line without regard to which line failed initially. If both lines fail, a local signal shall sound. The control /communicator shall have the ability to send a test signal to the central station every 24 hours. the test signal shall be able to be transmitted at a specific time of day or night by setting a program feature within the panel. The alarm signals transmitted to the central station shall indicate which of the eight zones is in alarm and which zones are in trouble, depending on which format is used. Restoral from alarm or trouble signals shall also be transmitted by zone. The control /communicator shall be capable of communicating to Silent Knight, Radionics or Ademco central station receivers. The i family is founded on three principles: Installation ease. Intelligence, and Instant inspection. Installation ease. The i line redefines installation ease with its plug -in design. This allows an installer to pre -wire the bases included with the heads. The large wire entry port and in -line terminals provide ample room for neatly routing the wiring inside the base. The base accommodates a variety of back box mount- ing methods as well as direct mounting with drywall anchors. To complete the installation, i heads plug -in to the base with a simple Stop -Drop 'N Lock action. Intelligence. i detectors offer a number of intelligent features to simplify testing and maintenance. Drift compensation and smoothing algorithms are standard with the i line, to minimize nuisance alarms. When connected to the 2W-MOD2 loop test/maintenance module, or a panel equipped with the i protocol, 2 -wire i detectors are capable of generating a remote maintenance signal when they are in need of cleaning. This signal is indicated via an LED located at the module and the panel. To read the sensitivity of i detectors, the SENS -RDR is a wireless device that displays the sensitivity in terms of percent per foot obscuration. Instant inspection. The i series provides wide angle red and green LED indica- tors for instant inspection of the detector condition, indicating: normal standby, out -of- sensitivity, alarm, or freeze trouble conditions. 'When connected to the 2W -MOD2 loop test/maintenance module or a panel with the i protocol, the EZ Walk loop test feature is available on 2 -wire i detectors. This feature verifies the initiating loop wiring by providing LED status indication at each detector. Strobe options for wall mount models include 1575cd or Wheelock's patented MCW multi - candela wall strobes with field selectable candela settings of 15/30/75/110cd, or the high intensity MCWH strobe with field selectable 135/185cd. Ceiling mount models incorporate Wheelock's patented MCC multi - candela ceiling strobe with field selectable intensities of 15/30/75/95cd or the high intensity MCCH strobe with field selectable 115/177cd. The audible provides a selectable choice of either a continuous horn or temporal pattern (Code 3) when constant voltage from a Fire Alarm Panel (FACP) is applied. Each tone has 3 dBA settings to choose from. When used with the Wheelock Series SM or DSM Sync Module or Wheelock PS- 12/24 -8CP and PS- 12/24 -8MP Power Supplies with Patented Sync Protocol, synchronization of the continuous horn tone provides the temporal (code 3) tone (mandated by NFPA 72) simultaneously for all audible appliances. This ensures a distinct temporal (code 3) pattern when 2 or more audibles are within hearing distance. If not synchronized the temporal sound could overlap and not be distinctive. At the same time the strobes will be synchronized. This provides the ability to comply with ADA guidelines concerning photosensitive epilepsy and the NFPA standards when installing 2 or more visual appliances within the field of view all of this plus the ability to silence the audible is achieved by using only 2 wire.
