You had requested that the structure contain tie columns at the window openings in the North Florida room, and also tie columns in the openings of the living room window, since the spans are more than 9 feet wide. You also advised me that the failure to include the tie columns would result in a weak structure which would be suscep- tible to damage by hurricane or other hazards. You further advised that you would waive the require- ments for the tie columns provided I gave you a letter releasing the Village and your department from any responsibility concern- ing this matter. In the event you waive the requirements for the inclusion of the tie columns, you may accept this letter as a general release relieving the Miami Shores Village, the Building Department, and yourself, as Building Inspector, from any responsibility or liabi- lity for damages which may result to me or the structure by reason of your waiving the inclusion of the tie columns at the Florida room window and the living room window of said structure.
