Pump 30 PSI - Verify Prior to Commencement System shall be installed in accordance with local codes, Contract Drawings, and Contract Specifications. Irrigation design is based on SUSAN HALL ASSOCIATES, SITE LANDSCAPE PLAN and dated 28 May, 1994. Contractor shall refer to this plan to coordinate sprinkler location and pipe routing with plant locations. Jhe water source for this system shall be an existing irrigation ►volt and pump, located on the rear of the house, Southwest corner. The Contractor is advised to visit the site to become familiar with the existing conditions and to study the plans for additional information. To insure proper operation of this system, programming, valve sizes, zone capacities, sprinkler spacing and installation notes and details shall be followed as shown. Provide Rainbird 'mini click' moisture sensing equipment to automatic system to insure conservation of water. The inigation system for all lawn areas shall be operational, inspected, and approved by the Landscape Architect prior to planting grass in any form, and the Contactor shall maintain' and operate the system until acceptance by the Landscape Architect, to assure its continuing operation and irrigation of the grass. PIPING Pipe routing is schematic only and shall be adjusted for on -site conditions. Pipe shall be installed in accordance with local codes and pipe manufacturer's. recoilllalendatlons. Pipe routed under pavement and walks shall be sleeved in SC.1 -1 10 PVC. Each sleeve shall be twice the size of the pipe. Contractor shall verify the depth, size, and location of all existing sleeves with the General Contractor. All lateral lines shall be SDR 160 PVC. Provide Schedule 40 PVC under pavements, walls, and walks. Pipe shall be installed so backfill depths are maintained at 12" for mainline, 8" depth for all laterals. 13ackfill shall be of suitable material free of rocks, stones, or other debris that would damage irrigation system components. Valves shall be installed along the mainline in 10" diameter Ametek valve boxes with 1 1/2" Rainbird PE Valves, 24 Volt. SPRINKLERS All irrigation heads shall be equipped with Pressure Compensating Devices (PCD) to eliminate fogging and conserve water. Sprinkler locations shall be adjusted for wind, mounding, and landscaping to insure proper coverage while minimizing undesirable overthrow. Pop -up spray heads shall be specified in the Tabulation of Quantities which shall be installed with funny pipe. Shrub type spray heads shall be installed on shrub riser heights which are appropriate to surrounding plantings (24" height). Shrub heads shall be installed at a uniform height and shall be located within plant masses to hide from view. SCH 40 risers shall be painted flat black to blend in ■,,ilh the plants. Sprinklers located adjacent to pavements shall be set in 41" from the edge / curb. Adjustnent features of sprinklers shall be utilized to insure proper coverage with minimal . undesirable overthrow. r r M m 7 478 N0RTHEAST 92ND STREET MIAMI SHORES, FLORIDA • 1 I /?Y t Nt- UN CEJA- ECKERT RESIDENCE ,..,,,..,, -.,, Tr IRRIGATION PLAN IN K m ciN hIl 1.1tI,K E1(v1fI N "I -01-113o P=15; S IG SCALE: i/8 "-i 0 5 10 20 30 AUTOMATIC CONTROL SYSTEM Automatic valve locations are schematic only and shall be adjusted for site conditions. Controller shall be installed in accordance with local codes and manufacture's instructions. Contractor shall be equipped with Lightning Arrestor feature. The irrigation Contractor shall provide and mount the controller and shall provide electrical hook -up, according to local code requirements. Control lines from controller to in -line valves shall be 1114 OF direct burial uncrerground feed type which shall be (1) buried to a minimum depth of 12 ", (2)- sleeved when routed under pavement and walks, and (3) spliced only at valve locations. All splices shall be • made waterproof using approved methods. Spare wires shall he routed throughout the site. Automatic valve locations are schematic only and shall be adjusted for site conditions. Each valve shall be installed in a 10" Ametek valve box with 1 cubic foot pea gravel per valve box Hush with diaphragm. Provide 12" length of #I.1 LIP direct burial wire in 1/2" coil. Flow adjustment features of valves specified shall be utilized to balance operating pressures throughout the system. Watering time per station shall be determined in field to meet planting requirements. Refer to irrigation manufacturer's 1994 literature for precipitation rates of sprinklers specified. the Contractor shall provide an as -built record of the installed system, marked -up on a blueprint provided by the Landscape Architect.
