MAY 0 2 1999 This approves a structural mullion system for the windows specified below, designed to comply with the South Florida Building Code, 1994 Edition for Dade County, for the locations where the pressure requirement, as determine by ASCE 7 -88 "Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Others Structures ", do not exceed the Design Pressure Rating values in Section 7 and within the limitations contained in Section 3. Model Designation Sunshine Windows 1" x 2 ", 1" x 3" and 1" x 4" (Un- clipped) Aluminum Tube Mullions. (Non- reinforced). To be used to support only Sunshine Windows Series 2000 Single Hung Windows with a current Notice of Acceptance. 2. MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICS 2.1 The structural mullion consists of: 2.1.1 Main component is an extruded aluminum rectangular tube of 1/8" wall thickness. Tube dimensions are: 1" x 2 ", 1" x 3" and 1" x 4 ". Tube material is aluminum alloy 6063 -T5. 2.1.2 Additionally, both extruded aluminum jamb members (Part SSW -011), approved for the units listed in Section 1.2 2.2 Tested specimen: A side -by -side configuration, consisting of two 53 -1/8" wide x 63" high Series 2000 Single Hung Window units mulled together. Overall dimensions: 8' 10- 5/16" wide x 5' 3" high overall 3. LIMITATIONS 3.1 This approval applies to un- clipped structural mullions to be installed vertically, as shown in Section 10. 3.2 Mullions are to be used only to support Sunshine Windows Series 2000 Single Hung Windows with a current Notice of Acceptance. 3.3 The maximum mullion span (length) shall be: 74 -1/4" 3.4 For Design Pressure Rating vs. Mullion length, see "Anchor /Mullions Design Capacity Chart" on Drawing No. M95 -15D, Sheet 1 of 1, bearing the Dade County Product Control approval stamp. 3.5 For anchoring condition, see "Anchors" Load Chart for each anchor type: "A" (with one screw on each side of mullion) OR "B" (with two screws on each side of mullion) as shown on Drawing No. M95 -15D, Sheet 1 of 1, bearing the Dade County Product Control approval stamp. 3.6 Both mullion and anchor design pressure rating, per load charts, must meet or exceed the pressure requirement for the opening in which it is to be installed. 3.7 Window sizes and design pressures are to be limited only to those appearing on Charts referenced above and also listed in the individual window's Notice of Acceptance.
