THE ALARM SHALL SOUND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DOOR IS
OPENED AND BE CAPABLE OF BEING HEARD THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE

WATER FROM ALL DIRECTIONS. THE SAFETY FENCE SHALL BE PERMANENTLY INSTALLED
AT ONE END WHICH CAN ONLY BE REMOVED BY TOOLS.
4. A COMBINATION OF THE PERIMETER FENCE AND CHILD FENCE MAY BE USED TO
PREVENT ACCESS TO THE POOL PROVIDES THE CHILD FENCE IS INSTALLED IN

POOL SAFETY DEVICES:
AS PER THE 2004 FLORIDA RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE, THIS POOL AND /OR SPA MUST BE
PROTECTED ( AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSES) FROM UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
I . A PERIMETER FENCE MUST BE LOCATED AROUND THE POOL UTILIZING A PART
OF THE HOUSE AS A BARRIER THIS METHOD, AT THE OWNER'S EXPENSE, SHALL REQUIRE
COMPLIANCE WHIT 2004 OF THE FLORIDA RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE.
ACCESS TROUGH THE BARRIER MUST BE TROUGH SELF CLOSING, SELF
LATCHING GATES COMPLYING WITH THE ABOVE INDICATED ARTICLE.
IF A PART OF THE HOUSE 15 TO BE USED AS BARRIER ,ALL DOORS
AND WINDOWS WITH DIRECT ACCESS TO THE POOL SHALL BE EQUIPPED
WITH AN EXIT ALARM COMPLYING WITH 2004 FBCTHAT HAS A MINIMUM
SOUND PRESSURE RATING OF 85 dB AT 1 0 FEET AND 15 EITHER HARD
WIRED OR THE PLUG -IN TYPE . THE EXIT ALARM SHALL PRODUCE A
CONTINUOUS AUDIBLE WARNING WHEN THE DOOR AND ITS SCREEN ARE
OPENED.
THE ALARM SHALL SOUND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE DOOR IS
OPENED AND BE CAPABLE OF BEING HEARD THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE
DURING NORMAL HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES. THE ALARM SHALL BE
EQUIPPED WHIT A MANUAL MEANS TO TEMPORARILY DEACTIVATE THE
ALARM FOR A SINGLE OPENING, SUCH DEACTIVATION SHALL LAST
NO LONGER THAN 15 SECONDS. THE DEACTIVATION SWITCH SHALL BE
LOCATED AT LEAST 54 INCHES ABOVE THE THRESHOLD OF THE DOOR.
2. A SAFETY NET OR COVER SHALL BE INSTALLED COMPLETELY COVERING THE
SURFACE OF THE POOL AND /OR SPA THEREBY PREVENTING ACCESS TO THE
WATER THE NET OR COVER SHALL BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH 2004 FRBC
3. A CHILD SAFETY FENCE (KIDDIES FENCE) A MINIMUM OF 48 INCHES IN HEIGHT SHALL
BE INSTALLED AROUND THE PERIMETER OF THE POOL PREVENTING ACCESS TO THE
WATER FROM ALL DIRECTIONS. THE SAFETY FENCE SHALL BE PERMANENTLY INSTALLED
AT ONE END WHICH CAN ONLY BE REMOVED BY TOOLS.
4. A COMBINATION OF THE PERIMETER FENCE AND CHILD FENCE MAY BE USED TO
PREVENT ACCESS TO THE POOL PROVIDES THE CHILD FENCE IS INSTALLED IN
COMPLIANCE WITH ITEM 3 ABOVE.

I .A PERMANENT SAFETY WARNING SIGN MUST BE PROVIDED AT
ALL SWIMMING POOL AND SPA AREAS READILY VISIBLE FROM THE

SHALLOW WATER DIVING, THE PREVENTION OF DROWNING AND SHALL
