SOUTH FLORIDA BUILDING CODE (REVISED 1994)
(d) If work has commenced and the permit becomes null and void or expires
• • because of lack of progress or abandonment, a new permit covering the proposed

(e) If a new building permit is not obtained within 180 days from the date the
initial permit became null and void, the Building Official shall require that any work which
• • has been commenced or completed be removed from the building site; or he may issue a
new permit, on application, providing the work in place and required to complete the
structure meets all applicable regulations in effect at the time the initial permit became null
and void and any regulations which may have become effective between the date of
expiration and the date of issuance of the new permit.
(1) Work shall be considered to have commenced and be in active progress
when, in the opinion of the Building Official, a full complement of workmen and
equipment is present at the site to diligently incorporate materials and equipment into the
structure throughout the day on each full working day, weather permitting. This provision
shall to be applicable in case of civil commotion or strike or when the building work is
halted due to legal action.
(g) The fee for renewal, reissuance and extension of a permit shall be as set
forth by the administrative authority.
304.4 REVOCATION OF PERMIT:
(a) The Building Official may revoke a permit or approval issued under the
provisions of this Code in case of any false statement or misrepresentation of fact in the
application or on the plans on which the permit or approval was based.
(b) Whenever the Building Official reasonably believes the work for which a
permit has been issued is not being performed in conformity with plans, specifications or
descriptions, or approved plans are not being kept at the site, it shall be the duty of the
Building Official to notify the contractor, or owner, or their agent, in writing, that the
permit is suspended. Written notice shall be mailed or given to the permit holder or his
agent, and it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to perform any work in or about
the building or structure except such work as may be required for the correction of the
expressed violations. And if, in the judgment of the Building Official, there is imminent
danger that requires immediate action, the permit may be revoked or suspended verbally
and written notice served later.

1. The proposed circular driveway project was never done.
2. We gave "ICOA Contructions" a check in the amount of $ 60 -00 around
Dec of 2003, to obtain a permit, but then cancelled the job due to
financial reasons.
3. We were never given our money back and did not know that your office
had issued a permit.
4. Because we have just re- financed our home this matter came to Tight and
as a result you have been paid the outstanding $ 60 by our "Title Co ".
