due to flooding are not covered by normal
homeowners insurance. You can protect your

There Is a 30 day waiting period from the
policy purchase until coverage begins,
with the following exceptions;

Flood insurance is necessary to obtain
federally secured funds to buy, build, or
rannovate a structure located in a flood
hazard area. This Includes federal grants,
FHA, and VA loans, as well as most
conventional mortgage loans.
FLOOD REFERENCE LIBRARY
The Village of Miami Shores
maintains two flood reference
libraries. One in the Village Hall
and the other at Brockway
Memorial Library. Reference
material includes; Flood Insurance
Rate Maps, state and federal
publications covering a variety of
subjects, and a list of agencies and
individuals to contact for more
information. Residents are urged to
take advantage of this important
flood protection information.
FLOOD HAZARD THREAT
Our greatest flood threat period is during
hurricane season (1 .tune through 30
November). Flooding in Miami Shores
Village is caused primarily by heavy rains
that occur in a short period of time. In 1998
during hurricane MITCH more than .. inches
of rain fell in a 24 hour period this caused
localized flooding in marry areas. It is
important that you know and understand the
degree to which your property may be at
risk.

plaster net- painted.
12. Electricals All work in ac z i with National Electric Codes. Florida Power ArlIE
and Light Co. and City of Mis�4vt%o Contractors to pay all fees, run all tests,
get all necessary inspections. Materials shall be new and underwriter approved. Con-
duit, iomex, rigid conduit for service. Wire, RC. #14, 5 Wire #6 service overhead
Panel 4 circuit coib. range. No outlet. Stub -out under kitchen floor appliance, 2
#14 mires, Doorbell pushbutton installed with transformer, boxes stamped galvanized,
knockout type. Switches H & H or Bryant ar similar. Receptacles same. No telephone.
Cover plates brown cr ivory Bakelite. Outlets 16" above floor, switches 4' above floor.
Contractor shall install fixtures.
13. Plumbing: All plumbing installed in accordance 4t local cedes, including fees,
inspections etc. All material to be new, cast iron ittaimetard vents, stocks and wasted.
Galv. steel water pipes, 550 gal. septic tank and 7E' T.C. drainage. 66 gal. solar
system with #10 coils.
Fixtures- Bath K -40 complete with K -7629 rod less curtain and K -7527 trim.
