E. 87th Street Miami Shores Village Gentlemen: February 3, 1967 I would like to call your attention to my letter to you, February 16, 1965. In this l etter you were advised of several flagrant violations to our building code and asked that they be corrected. To date, on numerous occasions, Mr. Hamilton has promised to get these violations corrected, but all that has been done is routine clean -up, with nothing done to the existing violations. The following violations were pointed out in my letter and to date have not been corrected. 1. The electrical system has gross violations - such as bare wires, over loaded circuits, and inadegate service. 2. Occupancies requiring fire wall separations are in the sarrie room. 3. Generally - the building is in a run -down condition. The roof leaks, the windows have glass missing - and that should be of fire proof quality, which it is not and a general house cleaning and painting would be appropriate. It shouldn't be necessary to point out that faulty wiring in the run- down building is a definite hazard and should a fire occure because of violations, insurance settlements would be difficult. Correction of the above mentioned violations are long over due and continued delays will result in court action for violation to Village Ordinances. Gentlemen: A routine inspection of your building revealed several violations to the South Florida Building Code. These violations are of such magnitude that it is necessary for me to call them to your attention. 1. The electrical system has gross violations from over- loading circuits to over - loading electrical service. 2. The electrical service to different occupancies is not protected by main line switches. 3. The different occupancies are not separated by required fire wall. 4. The storage of materials in cardboard and wood crates, the stccicpiling of excelsior, in areas without proper fire protection. 5. The employing of mixed personnel without proper toilet facilities. 6.
