Czerniec Barry University Mr. T. Fowrney Miami Shores Mr. L ubien - ; Miami Shores Mr. J. A. Rodriguez F &F The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the overall plan for the campus with specific attention given to the proposed dormitories, classrooms and sports complex. 1.0- West Hall 1 & 2. 1.1- Mr. Lubien noted nothing higher than 3 feet may be placed with a 20'.00" (twenty foot) triangle at the corner so as to avoid obstructing views of the intersection to traffic. 1.2- Landscaping plans should be reviewed by Mr. Tom Benton 836.3143 at the Department of Public Works. 1.3- No objections were voiced to sitting of buildings and parking, 2.0- Classroom Building. 2.1- Concept was reviewed with no comments. 3.0- Sporst Complex. West Hall Residence Dormitories Phase I F &F Project No. 8630.00 r. 3.1- Officials noted there would be opposition to proposed complex on southeast corner of west 40 lot. Suggestion was to relocate as remote as possible . Opposition will come from neighbors (as to noise factor). As to lighting, officials noted the Village had not been able to illuminate their own courts becau- se of citizen opposition. o N CO 0 c* m c 0 .c N N c cr , a • 0 0E co 2 0 0 R LLI *5 LL N z a °° N ier at 4.0- Mr. Czerniec explored with building officials the issue of the University's purchase of perimeter residences for conversion to faculty, staff and graduate student housing. Building officials reported this would be inconsistent'with zoning regulations of single family residences and in all probability would not be permitted. In effect, ownership by the University for use by either students or faculty would constitute an "adult congregate facility ". In addition, they voiced concern for the loss of said properties from the tax rolls. 4.1- Mr. Czerniec stated the University would consider retaining said properties within the tax roll and offered the alterna- tive as an option to a deterioriating neighborhood. 4.2- Building Officials made no commitment on this issue as to their future options on any actions by the University of this nature. These minutes have the status of a letter. Their intent is to present the facts though not necessarily in their order of ocurrence . Anyone desiring corrections to the above text should notify this office within ten working days after receipt of same. Otherwise, they shall be considered a matter of record.
