Couplings, connectors and fittings shall be approved types specifically designed and manufactured for the purpose. They shall be installed expertly to provide a firm mechanical assembly and electrical conductivity. The conduit runs shall be installed in a neat and workmanlike manner and they shall be as nearly straight as practicable. Exposed conduits shall run parallel or at right angles to walls, beams, and floor unless shown otherwise on the drawings They shall be supported by clamps with clamp backs fastened to the wall, bearns or ceiling to provide a clearance of not less than 1/2 inch between the conduit and the wall. Each conduit bend shall have as long a radius as possible, and the radius shall not be less than that of he standard long - radius bend for that size of conduit No standard short- radius bends shall be used except as shown on the drawings The junction of conduit with any outlet box, panelboard box, or other receptacle provided with knock -outs, shall be made with a bushing inside and a lock nut outside of the box tightened to fasten the conduit rigidly to the box.
