CALL TO ORDER- Ms. Bonaduce called to order at 6:33pm 2. ROLL CALL Present: Ms. Spirk (arrived at 6:37pm) Ms. Bonaduce Mr. Serrano Absent: Mr. Saadeh Ms. Headley Also, Present: Ms. Scarlett Hammons –Interim Planning Director Ms. Alizgreeth Tezen –Planner 1 3. MINUTES 3.A. Approval of the Minutes- September 18th, 2024 2024-9-18 HPB MINUTES.pdf Move to approve by Ms. Spirk, Seconded by Mr. Serrano. 3-0. 4. PUBLIC COMMENT- 2 MINUTE LIMIT Mayor Burch addressed the meeting, inquiring about the board's need for a permanent space and what resources they would require for such a facility. There is strong advocacy for renovating the 9900 building to create a new space for various recreational activities to benefit the community. Another key topic was the potential redevelopment of the golf course and country club, which is a priority for the Historic Board. Mayor Burch also questioned the sources of funding necessary to support the board's operations. In response, Chair Ms. Bonaduce explained that $7,500 is allocated for plaques and markers, but the remaining activities are unfunded. The board had requested $10,000, but this was not included in the current budget. 2 5. ANNOUNCEMENTS 5.B. Edwin Reeder House Plaque Unveiling Update Ms. Tezen spoke about the unveiling scheduled date and confirmation was provided by the board to move forward with the proposed date of November 13, 2024 at 6:30pm. Ms. Spirk asked what can the board do to help with this event. Chair Ms. Bonaduce explained that in the past the board members have been proactive in advertising the unveiling through social media and the use of the newsletter. The board sponsors drinks, food and music selection during the event. The village helps with ensuring the setup for the tent and chairs is taken care of. 6. DISCUSSION ITEM(S) 6.A. Historic Houses Demolition Review Update Ms. Hammons provided an update of the demolition proposal for houses to be viewed by the historic preservation board prior to obtaining a building permit. Direction was given to staff to add an item on the next meeting and fill out the form to recommend to village council. Motion to approve discussion item for the changes to proposal of protection of historic houses by Ms. Spirk, Seconded by Mr. Serrano. 3-0. 7. PUBLIC COMMENTS- 2 MINUTES 8. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS Ms. Bonaduce provided to the board a proposal to bring forward a report to village council the achievements and items that have been done by the HPB this past year. Ms. Bonaduce asked village staff to make copies of the report when its ready to go to village council. 9. NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING- November 14, 2024, move to approve date changed by Ms. Spirk seconded by Mr. Serrano. 3-0. 10. ADJOURNMENT – By Chair Ms. Bonaduce 7:13pm, seconded by Mr. Serrano. The board may consider and act upon such other business as may come before it. In the event this agenda must be revised, such revised copies will be available to the public at Village Hall.
