(DEC) conducted an Asbestos Building Survey on October 25, 2016 at the above referenced project. The purpose of our inspection was to secure bulk samples for analysis to determine the presence of Asbestos Containing Building Materials in the proposed renovation and demolition areas. The scope of our inspection covered the following areas: Building of the above referenced project. (see attached plan) Based on our laboratory analysis; it was evident that asbestos fibers were found in the following secured bulk samples: A- Category I Friable Material: 1- Black wall coating was found on the interior of concrete block wall with 4-5% chrysotile fibers sample #'s 17, 18, 19 and 20. Black wall coating is considered Category I Non -Friable material this material is presently in good condition and does not need to be removed; however; in the event of renovation or demolition where the black wall coating will be disturbed and removed, all work should be conducted by a Florida Licensed Asbestos Abatement Contractors under full supervision of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Co sultan e i4 l �I i*ce with Federal, State and Local regulations. Page No. 2 910 Northeast 991h Street, Miami Shores, FL Roofing,Material: 1- Black roofing mastic was found on top of the chimney with 4-5% chrysotile fibers sample #'s 66, 67 and 68 (approximately 5 ft). Based on our visual inspection, physical site assessment and potential for damage, it was evident that the roof material is considered Category I - Non friable material. In the event of future repair and replacement of the roof material, all work shall be conducted by a Florida Licensed Roofing Contractors with on site Roofing Asbestos Supervision as provided in Section 469.012 of F.A.C. and in compliance with NESHAPS and OSHA regulations. This report is designed to aid the building Owner, Architect, Construction Manager, General Contractors, and Potential Asbestos Abatement Contractors in locating ASBESTOS CONTAINED MATERIALS. Under no circumstances is this report to be utilized as a proposal or a project specification document. Approximate amounts of Asbestos Containing Building Material (ACBM) are estimates only and the not to be used for bidding estimates or pricing. Owners and abatement contractors must familiarize themselves with site condition prior to bidding. This inspection report is the results of a customary search of the facility for Asbestos Containing Building Materials (A.C.B.M.). This survey was destructive in order to expose potential hidden materials. This is not an AHERA survey. We do not claim to have identified all of the asbestos containing building material present in the facility. If in the course of a renovation or demolition activity, suspect materials become exposed, (ie: inside walls and hidden conditions etc..,) all activities should immediately cease and the suspect material brought to our attention for evaluation and recommendation. Dynatech Engineering Corporation (DEC), will not be responsible for these conditions. When implementing the response actions, parties response actions, parties responsible for final selection should remember that actions shall be sufficient to protect HUMAN HEALTH AND THE ENVIRONMENT, but may also be the least burdensome method. Nothing in these recommendations should be construed as PROHIBITING or discouraging removal.
