2025-05-13 Traffic Meeting MinutesVILLAGE OF MIAMI SHORES AD HOC TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES Tuesday, May 13, 2025 1) CALL TO ORDER - 6:05P 2) ROLL CALL - Tim Crutchfield, Deepak Ganju, Dennis Leyva, David Schein, Staff Delroy Peters 3) APPROVAL MINUTES March 11, 2025 - Motion made passed unanimously (DL/DS) 4) MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES - NONE 5) PUBLIC COMMENTS Councilperson Burch spoke regarding re-striping of roads Barbara Lawless 8817 NE 4th Ave. Rd. Tropical Chevrolet sends customers to NE 4th Ave. Rd. to test drive cars. Request speed tables 87th and 89th streets on 4th Ave. Rd. Also requesting Police drop by Tropical Chevrolet and ask them not to send drivers to NE 4th Avenue Road to test drive their vehicles resulting in speeding through the neighborhood. Ms. Lawless will email Mr. Peters directly. 6) DISCUSSION and POSSIBLE ACTION A. Draft Report Evaluation 2016 Traffic Calming Study • Complete speed tables • Request new traffic study including projected conditions • Defer hardscape until new study is done • List areas of concerns brought by residents and suggestions on how to address issues o Addendum - Meeting Summaries All Traffic Meetings (Dennis Leyva) o Addendum - Items Pending 2016 Traffic Study (David Schein) • Committee to complete report by July 2025 B. Update Chief Golt install of cameras monitor traffic Miami Shores Elementary School Zone. Chief Golt didn’t attend and sent Captain Joseph Keeley. Keeley not aware of what Golt said. Quotes have been gathered fr cameras to monitor traffic at Shores Elementary Cost of a speed trailer $7,000 Motion made passed unanimously requesting number of Traffic Tickets and Traffic Accidents in the Village of Miami Shores YTD by month in 2025 from Jan. 1 - May 30, 2025 (DL/DS) C. Update Public Works installation of speed tables Speed table NE 12th Ave. east of 94th St. going to be replaced. Two new speed tables to be installed East of 12th Ave. and NE 104th St. By May 30th a contractor should be hired to do the work. 7) BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS • Tim Crutchfield may be in trail June and July and may impact writing of Final Report to Council. • Dennis Leyva will provide list of meetings with summaries to Mr. Peters, Fri. May 16 for distribution to members for their review. • David Schein will provide report on issues not done from 2016 Traffic Calming Study. 8) NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING - Tuesday, June 10, 2025 9) ADJOURNMENT - Motion to adjourn (DS/DG)
