YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that an inspection of the above premises revealed that you have violated
the provisions of the Florida Building Code which have been adopted as the uniform building code for
Miami Shores Village, Florida or provisions of the Code of Miami -Dade County. The building official has
found work regulated by this code being performed in a manner contrary to the provisions of this code
that are dangerous or unsafe. Thereby the building official has issue a stop work order for your project.
Type of Violation: Interior renovation.
Section 6-4 Of the Miami Shores Village Code of Ordinances.
(a) Required. No person shall erect or construct or proceed with the erection or
construction of any building or structure, nor add to, enlarge, move, improve, alter,
convert, extend or demolish any building or structure, or any group of buildings and/or
structures under one or joint ownership whether on one or more lots or tracts of land;
or cause the same to be done where the cost of the work is $100.00 or more in value;
and on any remodeling or alteration job of any value; without first obtaining a permit
therefor from the building department.
Chapter: 1 Section 105.1 of the 61h Edition of the 2017 Florida Building Code
[A] 105.1 Required. Any owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair,
move, demolish, or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter,
repair, remove, convert or replace any impact -resistant coverings, electrical, gas, mechanical or
plumbing system, the installation of which is regulated by this code, or to cause any such work to be
done, shall first make application to the building official and obtain the required permit.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CORRECTION.
1. Contact the Miami Shores Building Department and schedule a site inspection. After the inspection,
the Building Official will provide you with the requirements for corrections.
Therefore, you are hereby directed that on or before Monday, December 24, 2018 you are to correct
said VIOLATION and NOTIFY THE UNDERSIGNED BUILDING INSPECTOR that the VIOLATION has been
corrected. Failure to make the correction(s) will result in one or more of the following actions:
Disconnect utilities services, initiation of an unsafe structures case requiring demolition of the structure.
Also, failure to comply with this notice may result in the department withholding issuance of other
permits to you, referral of this matter to the appropriate licensing board or the filing of a lien against
your property in the amount of any unpaid ticketing fines. In accordance with the provisions of Section
8-17 of the Code of Miami -Dade County, you are also responsible for the reasonable costs and expenses
incurred by the Building Official in enforcing the provisions of the Building Code.
In the event further clarification or assistance is required, please contact Ismael Naranjo, B.0 at (305)
795-2204 between the hours of 8:30 A.M. and 5:00 PM. Except in the case of life -safety hazards, you
may be granted upon request an extension of time up to 90 days to correct the violation provided your
request is submitted prior to the expiration of this Notice of Violation and enforcement costs incurred
by the department to date are paid in full. To request an extension, please contact the Building

building into compliance with the requirements of the 2017 Florida Building Code Residential or
obtain permits to demolish the building.
H. During the inspection performed on January 4, 2019 we were able to confirm that work
has and was being performed without permits and in violation with the requirements of
Florida Building Code, Miami Dade County Code and the Code of ordinance of Miami
Shores Village. In order to cure the violation you are required to comply with the
following requirements.
A. Obtain copies of microfilms for the property from Miami Shores Village.
B. Provide working drawings signed and sealed by Florida license engineer or
architect along with an inspection and certification report for all structural
members including but not limited to roof trusses and or rafters, floor joist, and
interior load bearing walls. The drawings should comply with the requirements of
the 61h Edition of the 2017 Florida Building Code, Existing Building base on the
compliance method selected and the applicable -level of alteration for the project
and should also comply with the requirements of section 8-10 of Miami Dade
County Code. The working drawings should include demolition and or removal of
all work performed without permits, including bathrooms, kitchen, floors and
walls.
C. Permit application by license contractors.
D. Obtain permits and pay required permit and penalty fees.
E. Pass all required inspections.
F. Obtain certificate of completion.
Therefore, you are hereby directed that on or before March 15, 2019 you are to correct said VIOLATION
and NOTIFY THE UNDERSIGNED BUILDING INSPECTOR that the VIOLATION has been corrected.
Failure to make the correction(s) will result in one or more of the following actions: Disconnect utilities
services, issuance of a ticket(s) in the amount of $500.00 or more, filing of a civil suit or criminal charges
