2025-071 RESOLUTION NO. 2025-07 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI 4 SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING THE SINGLE FAMILY HOME LOCATED AT 9328 NE 9T" AVENUE AS A 5 VILLAGE HISTORIC LANDMARK; PROVIDING FOR INSTRUCTIONS UPON APPROVAL; AND PROVIDING FOR AN 6 EFFECTIVE DATE. 7 8 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11-4 (c)(1) of the Miami Shores Village (the 9 "Village") Code of Ordinances, the Historic Preservation Board has the power to io recommend to the Village Council the designation of a structure or site as an historic 11 landmark; and 12 WHEREAS, during a public hearing on January 15, 2025, the Historic Preservation 13 Board considered Application No. HP-25-02 and recommended by a 4-0 vote to designate 14 the single family home, located at 9328 NE 91h Avenue (the "Property"), as a Village 15 historic landmark, due to its historical and architectural significance and influence on the 16 Village based on English "Cape Cod" Cottage style designed by architect Carlos B. 17 Schoeppl; and 18 WHEREAS, the owner of the Property is in agreement with the proposed 19 designation; and 20 WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 11-5 (c) of the Village Code, the Village Council 21 has reviewed the recommendations of the Historic Preservation and Planning and Zoning 22 Boards and finds that the Property designation as a historic landmark is in the best interest 23 and welfare of the residents of the Village. 24 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI 25 SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA AS FOLLOWS: 26 27 Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the above stated recitals is hereby 28 confirmed, adopted, and incorporated herein and made a part hereof by reference. 29 Section 2. Historic Landmark Designated. Pursuant to Chapter 11, "Historic 30 Preservation," of the Village Code of Ordinances, the Property located at 9328 NE 9'h 31 Avenue in the Village is hereby designated as a historic landmark. 32 Section 3. Action following council approval. Pursuant to Section 11-5(d), 33 upon approval of the Property as a historic landmark by the Village Council, a covenant 34 to run with the land will be duly recorded by the Village Clerk in the public records of Miami 35 Dade County. The Village Council shall issue a certificate of recognition to the property 36 owners describing the historic landmark and describing its significance. 37 Section 3. Effective Date.
