2025-01-14- Traffic Meeting MinutesJanuary 14, 2025 Ad -Hoc Traffic Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes 1. CALL TO ORDER - Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM. 2. ROLL CALL Present: Timothy Crutchfield Nora Olaso Deepak Ganju David Stein Dennis Leyva 3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Motion made, passed unanimously approving Dec. 10, 2024, minutes (DL/DG). 4. MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES — None 5. PUBLIC COMMENTS Mayor Burch brought to the attention of the committee FDOT Off System Agreement with Village. And Council will meet in Feb. (Date TBD) to discuss all Village Committees. Should this Committee become permanent? DISCUSSION and POSSIBLE ACTION 6.A 2016 Traffic Study and what is pending and should be completed. David Stein submitted analysis of the Study and 68% of Speed Tables are installed. Not aware why other recommendations not implemented. Mr. Delroy to provide update on number of speed tables pending, advised Public Works will install remaining speed tables, and to provide what is budgeted for their installation. Motion made and passed unanimously recommending new "Traffic Study and Traffic Forecast' incorporating Village, County, and State Roads. (DL/NO) Chairperson, Tim Crutchfield mentioned for discussion at Feb. meeting: 1. Should Ad -Hoc Committee sunset? 2. Recommendation on what has not been completed 2016 Traffic Study. 3. Recommendation problem areas in the Village residents brought before the Committee. 6.13 Submission date committee report Village Council. 1. Feb. review 2016 Traffic Study, what was not completed, problem areas from residents. 2. March review and vote on final edit. 3. Submit recommendations to Council at their April 15, 2025 meeting. 6.0 Off System Agreement FDOT contract with Village on work to be done by FDOT on specific roadways and Village responsible for future maintenance after work is completed. Mr. Delroy to provide document. BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS 1. Nora Olaso - issue of a member taking minutes and participating in meeting. 2. Tim Crutchfield - if committee is formalized dedicated staff needed for minutes. 3. Dennis Leyva - update from Chief Galt regarding installation of cameras to monitor traffic at Miami Shores Elementary School Zone. 8. NEXT COMMITTEE MEETING A motion made and passed unanimously to move February meeting date to Feb. 25 (NO/DG).
