Ad -Hoc Traffic Advisory Committee Meeting Minutes
CALL TO ORDER — Meeting called to order 6 PM.
ROLL CALL
Present: Timothy Crutchfield, Deepak Ganju, Dennis Leyva, David Stein, and staff person Delroy Peters.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES — Motion made/passed unanimously approving January 14, 2025, minutes (DL/DS).
MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES — None
PUBLIC COMMENTS
• Sal Ganem 1605 NE 104th St. — Request speed tables NE 104th St.
• Carmen Renick 1579 NE 104th St. —Thirty signatures collected from residents on NE 104th St. for two speed tables.
• Staff— 2016 Traffic Study proposed two speed tables on NE 104th St. A 2/3 majority of residents required for
installing two speed tables. A survey will be mailed to residents on NE 104th regarding two speed tables. The
Village has nine speed tables that have not been installed.
• Jesse Valinsky, Council Person — Request for speed tables being made by many residents.
• Laura Albuga 1500 NE 104th St. — Request speed tables NE 104th St.
DISCUSSION and POSSIBLE ACTION
6.A 2016 Traffic Study Recommendations
Motion made/passed unanimously to hire contractor and finish installing nine speed tables (DS/DG).
Motion made/passed unanimously to defer Hardscape Area One, Three, and Four until a new traffic
study is conducted (DS/DG).
Motion made/passed (3/1) to defer Hardscape Area Two (DL/DG). David Stein dissenting vote.

Should Ad -Hoc Traffic Advisory Committee sunset or become a permanent committee?
Recommendations to Village Council regarding what has not been completed 2016 Traffic Study.
Recommendations on problem areas in the Village brought forth by residents to Ad -Hoc Traffic
Committee.
6.13 Status Vendor Selection Speed Enforcement Cameras School Zones
September 12, 2023, minutes (attached) presentation Miami Shores Village Police Chief regarding:
"New law allowing speed enforcement by a camera in school zones, during school hours. Miami Shores working to
identify a vendor who would be used for this purpose. The vendor would install and service the cameras as well as
monitor traffic. Any violations captured would be sent to a Miami Shores Police Department staff member, who
would then validate the accuracy of the citations and send approval back to the company to issue the tickets."
Delroy Peters, Public Works Dir. And Ad -Hoc Traffic Committee Staff will report status March 11, 2025, meeting.
