2024-3-20 HPB MINUTES 1 Mayor George Burch Vice Mayor Jesse Valinsky Councilmember Jerome Charles Councilmember Sandra Harris Councilmember Neil Cantor Esmond Scott, Village Manager Chanae Wood, Village Attorney Ysabely Rodriguez, Village Clerk HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES March 20, 2024 6:30pm COUNCIL CHAMBERS 1) CALL TO ORDER- By Chair Ms. Bonaduce at 6:30pm. 2) ROLL CALL Present: Mr.Saadeh Chair Ms. Bonaduce Ms. Headley Mr. Bramson Mr. Serrano Also present: Alex David-Interim Planning Director, CGA Alizgreeth Tezen- Planning and Zoning Technician 3) MINUTES 3.A Approval of the Minutes – February 21, 2024 2024-2-21 HPB MINUTES.pdf Motion to approve By Ms. Headley seconded Mr. Saadeh. Vote: 5-0. 4) PUBLIC COMMENT- 2 MINUTE LIMIT Ms. Kathleen Gunn introduced herself as the new Deputy Village Manager and provided a brief summary of her background and expertise. She stated that she is pleased to be here. 5) ANNOUNCEMENTS Mr. Bachay (Advisor to the HPB) gave an update on the Library Marker and discussed talking with a representative at the Bureau of Historic Preservation concerning Historical 2 Markers and stated that there is a delay in reviews but once it is done we will receive a notification. 6) ACTION ITEM(S) 6.A 525 NE 93rd ST. - Historic Designation Mr. David spoke about providing memos for each Board item moving forward. The Historic Designation request for 525 NE 93rd St was presented by Mr. John Bachay, who spoke about the item and the significance of preserving the home. Motion to recommend approval to Village Council to designate the home at 525 NE 93rd ST. by Ms. Headley, Seconded by Mr. Saadeh. Vote: 5-0. 525 NE 93rd ST-Application and Package 7) DISCUSSION ITEM(S) 7.A Attendance for Historic Preservation Board Members Mr. David spoke about the requirements for attendance and stated that excused absences must be received prior to the meeting. Ms. Tezen spoke about the reappointment date for Mr. Saadeh and Mr. Bramson for this year. 8) BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS Mr. Bramson stated he was a collector of historic items and would go over to see Ms. Brown at the library about William Gleason and William Gaunt. Mr. Saddeh spoke about the gala and put together the brochure and inventory of the houses. A week from Saturday the brunch will take place for the centennial. The house tour information logistics was discussed and how it will be solicited. Garden signs for the month of the May. Mr. Saadeh asked if the HPB can get a special account for donations made to the HPB for events and items that are coming up for the remainder of the year. Can the checks be written to the village? How to withdraw them? Staff stated that the proper procedures and information would be given at the following meeting as well as an updated report on the current budget for the HPB. Mr. Saadeh proposed including a draft ordinance on the next agenda to review the authority given by the Village Council to the HPB.
