A Certificate of Appropriateness a. 357 NE 92 Street Staff presented the item before the Board. The owners were present and were participating in choosing the right color for the roof. The property is requesting to replace the roof. The Agent, Mr. Tim Hunt from Cherrie Roofing showed to the Board the material of the roof be used. The Board asked questions and reviewed the color to choose. 2 The Board gave suggestions and informed the Agent about the material used back in 1926 records, which was clay material. The Agent said that it would take 4-6 months to install the new roof. Motion to approve with barrel tile clay - color Graphite based on color of the house by Chairman Castellanos, seconded by Ms. Headley and the Motion approved unanimously. Chairman Castellanos asked the owners if they would be willing to be Historic House of the Quarter. A Discussion about Senate Bill 423 There was discussion about the Senate Bill 423. Staff said that any single home that is historic can now be demolished if it is in a flood zone. Chairman Castellanos said that 1942 or pre 1942 can be demolished even if it is designated historic. The Board will take a look at each application as they come in for approval. House Bill 423.pdf 4. B Inventory of structures and sites of historic significance Ms. Hasbun spoke about the GRS map to be the next in line to be done. Historic GRS map will be done in the next 3 or 4 months to be complete. 4. C Invitation letters discussion Ms. Hasbun asked the Board to review the letters and explained the purpose of the letter. The Board discussed at length the how the national and locally designated homes should receive this letter. The Board will mail the letter to Ms. Hasbun and Ms. Bonaduce will provide the mailing list for the mailing. Ms. Bonaduce will draft the letter and give us the list for the mailing. Sample letters from MDC.pdf 4. D 2022 - meeting schedule There was discussion by the Board and Staff to set the next three meeting dates for the Board to meet. Next meeting will be- Wednesday, September 21, 2022, followed by Wednesday October 19, 2022 and Wednesday, November 16, 2022. 3 In November, the Board can set the meetings for next year. 4. E Historic Preservation Board Members vacancy applications https://www.miamishoresvillage.com/department/government/boards-and-committees There was a brief discussion about the Board Members vacancy applications by Staff and the Board. Mr. Bachay reported that Grand Concourse was waiting for feedback from the state. Staff said the state had not reported about the markers yet. Mr. Bachay will reach out to the state. Next meeting - re-design of the plaque. Ms. Headley will work on the design. 5) ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned at 7:37 PM.
