Advisory Board Meeting
Wednesday, March 27, 2024
Present: B. Griffith, M. Puglisi, S. Maroon, T. Septembre, M. Mennes, S. Soriero, C. Baetzel, R. Strickland,
P. Arutyunov, and A. Pozzi

Meeting called to order at 5:35 pm
February 28th Meeting Minutes were approved.
A. Pozzi —
® Weather has negatively impacted rounds and revenue; March numbers will fall short of last
years
® Started to repair damaged collars around greens
® Once we complete the work around the greens we will start to sod weak areas of the fairways
B. Griffith —
® National Golf Foundation and its subcontractors, John Sanford Golf and REG Architects visited
the Club to inspect the Golf course and clubhouse
® The National Golf Foundation has good ideas regarding the path forward
® They will give the Village a good idea of the cost for the renovations, plans and multiple options
S. Soriero — How long would the shutdown be?
A. Pozzi —That will depend on the agreed scope of work
B. Griffith —
® Will wait for the report from the National Golf Foundation
® Took a tour of the Clubhouse, eye opening, needs a total overhaul
® The Clubhouse is designated as a historic building, have to keep the basic structure of the
building
® They are waiting for a topographical survey to see elevation changes
• South Florida Water Management has to be involved so they can provide the National Golf
Foundation with their plans for upcoming projects that affect golf course property
R.J. Hisenbottle —
• Gave a presentation on their services
• Explained how the Village can apply for grants that can go towards the renovation
• Because the Clubhouse is designated a historic building the integrity of the design has to be
maintained, the inside of the building can change
New Business:
B. Griffith —
• The greens are looking much better
• Are you cutting them every day?
A. Pozzi —
• Yes, we are down to 1/10 of an inch
• We are again using growth regulators to ensure that green speeds are back to those you are
accustomed to
S. Maroon —The lower half of number 5 has a lot of ball mark damage
C. Baetzle — Will discuss with the superintendent and ask him to firm up the green to minimize ball
damage
T. Septembre —
• Staff is wonderful
• Bougainvillea is hanging over onto the walkway
• Bar awnings have to be looked at; they show some damage
• The greens look good
M. Puglisi — Noticed some areas on the tees are getting bare — should rotate them so they can heal
A. Pozzi — Yes, we will rotate the tees to make sure that we have proper tee rotation
S. Soriero —
• Attended the Mayors Gala and a Girl Scout event both were very well done
• Think about having kids' events?
A. Pozzi — We will plan children's events
