Delucca, R. Strickland and A. Pozzi Meeting called to order at 5:38 pm April Meeting Minutes were approved A. Pozzi – • We received quotes for a retractable awning, it will cost between $14,000 and $15,000. We will have to add the project to the list of capital requirements some of which have priority • So far we have spent $94,000 in capital expenditures and we still have 5 months to go in the contract year • Will be well over the $100,000 in capital expenses, just by doing the absolute necessities • We also need to replace some kitchen equipment, refrigeration and patio furniture B. Griffith – What about a permanent awning instead of a retractable awning? A. Pozzi – Would not want to obstruct the golf course view from the patio B. Griffith – Is the Village responsible for any of the expenses? A. Pozzi – No. PCM is responsible for all operating expenses and up to $100,000 a year in capital expenses. Which, as we mentioned before, we will far exceed this year New Business: A. Pozzi – • Introduced Bill Delucca, the new restaurant manager, who comes to us highly recommended, and with broad New York restaurant experience both in casual as well as fine dining. His first order of business is to recruit staff • I am sure you have noticed dry spots on the golf course, we have experienced one of the driest Mays on record, we are hoping for rain soon • We have been irrigating the golf course at 50% capacity as one of our 2 main pumps had to be replaced • The first greens aerification is scheduled for June 1st and 2nd • The second greens aerification will be done in late July and will be contracted out B. Griffith – What does the aerification do? A. Pozzi – • The aerification relieves soil compaction, improves percolation and removes thatch from the green which ensures that the turf receives the correct amount of moisture leading to healthy root systems and turf • Overall business continues to be very strong. In the restaurant we have as much business as we can handle with the current staff. The driving range continues to work at near capacity • We have been seeing a lot of new faces on the driving range as well as the golf course • Premier sales are as high as they have ever been • Word is out that we have some of the best greens around A. Pozzi for Howie Orlin – • The tennis courts are very busy and operating at near capacity most days, with a combination of member play, junior programs, instruction and pickleball • The online booking system is up and running S. Maroon – • Welcome Bill • My pet peeve is that the divots are not being filled by non members C. Baetzel – Will put the signs about filling the divots and ball marks back in the golf carts M. Gallo – Suggestion to put high boy tables and chairs on the patio A. Pozzi – We will look at adding a mix of regular and highboys to the new patio furniture P. Rajo – No comments N. Powell – • Welcome Bill • The tv’s look great M. Wilcoxen – No comments B. Griffith – How has the restaurant business been? A. Pozzi - • The restaurant business continues to pickup and some days particularly weekends we have as much business as we can handle with the staff we presently have. Additionally, we have started to book private parties and events; an area we believe has pent up demand • Our biggest challenge in the restaurant right now is staff recruiting B. Griffith – The St. Rose of Lima golf tournament was a nice event A. Pozzi – It was nice to see the great turnout as the event was sold out for the 1st time in a long time C. Baetzel – • We are Planning a Junior Tournament with all of PCM’s golf courses, the tournament will be flighted by age and the juniors do not have to be a member of the club • We are planning to do a tournament in conjunction with the British Open in July • Labor Day weekend we will have our red, white and blue tournament • The plaques for the club tournament winners will be delivered June 6th R. Strickland – Next meeting is scheduled for June 30, 2021 Meeting ended at 6:40 pm
