Advisory Board Meeting
Wednesday, March 24, 2021
Present: T. Septembre, M. Gallo, S. Maroon, M. Wilcoxen, B. Griffith, P. Rajo, C. Baetzel, P. Arutyunov,
H. Orlin, R. Strickland and A. Pozzi
Meeting called to order at 5:36 pm
February Meeting Minutes were approved
A. Pozzi –
• The number of golf rounds played in March are very strong, looking forward to the month of
April
• The golf business is one of the few business’ that have benefited from the pandemic
• The driving range has never been so busy
• New golfers in their 20’s and 30’s are taking up the sport
• We are planning on starting some extensive repairs to the cart paths, the work should start mid
to late April, please excuse the inconvenience for 2 to 3 weeks
New Business:
B. Griffith –
• Does the chipping area have lights?
• What is the status on the ball markers?
A. Pozzi – We do not have lights on the chipping area
C. Baetzel –
• We ordered 1000 of the ball markers, no exact time on delivery
• On Saturday I did a demonstration to show everyone the correct way to fix a ball mark
M. Gallo – What is the status on using the Men’s locker-room?
A. Pozzi –
• There is no answer, hoping the restrictions will be lifted as more people are get vaccinated
• Right now, the county will not allow sand in the carts
S. Maroon – No Comments
P. Rajo – When 2 players are allowed in the cart, will we have an option to have 1 in a cart?
A. Pozzi –
• Yes, we will have the option for one in a cart
• The complaints about slow play have been very minimal
P. Rajo – Should update the trophies (member-member, member-guest, club championship and 4-ball)
A. Pozzi – Chris will work on updating the trophies
T. Septembre –
• Took a ride on the on the golf course and saw people on the course in tank tops, is there a dress
code?
• Are you going to expand dinners?
• What is the club doing socially?
A. Pozzi –
• Yes we do have a dress code, and we offer those that are not appropriately dressed the ability
to purchase pro-shop merchandise at our cost
• We are not going to expand dinners at this time
• We are very limited as to what we can do as far as social events with the current guidelines
S. Maroon – How are Friday night dinners doing?
A. Pozzi –
• Friday night dinners are hit or miss
• Lunch business has been very good
• The majority of guests like to eat outside
T. Septembre – should consider getting a roll back canopy on the deck
A. Pozzi – They are very expensive to install and maintain, as it would have to be retractable to minimize
the impact on the golf course views from the patio
T. Septembre – Will look into it and will call Tom Benton
M. Wilcoxen –
• The last 2 weeks we have been playing the championships
• The gross winner was Tanya Track and the runner-up was Lola Pomeranz
• The net winner was Pat Derrer and the runner up was Martha Wilcoxen
• We had only 2 tournaments this year
• Last month Martha Ardila passed away and Licka Deigweitz passed away this month, she was 92
• We are still going to play Licka’s tournament
H. Orlin –
• Tennis play in general has increased
• The morning and weekend clinics are up in numbers
• On Saturdays and Sundays, we have a lady and men’s round robin game
• Pickleball play has increased, the board is invited to come and play
• It’s great to see the vibe at the club
• Purchased a new ball machine, it is like a robot, there is an app that goes with it, it is a great
amenity to have at the club
• Purchased new furniture for the club
• We have installed a new software program that allows players to book court times online
C. Baetzel –
• We had a very successful member guest tournament
• The club championship tournament is scheduled for April 17 and 18th, 50 golfers are signed up
• The golf course is in great condition
