2024-08RESOLUTION NO. 2024-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, ACCEPTING DONAT ED SERVICES, BY BOUND BY BEAUTY, INC., FOR THE INSTALLATION OF NATIVE DEMONSTRATION GARDENS AT THE BROCKWAY MEMORIAL LIBRARY; AUTHORIZING THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR IMPLENTATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Brockway Memorial Library (the "Library'') serves as a vital community hub, fostering learning, cultural exchange, and community engagement in Miami Shores Village (the "Village"); and WHEREAS, the surrounding areas of the Library present an opportunity for beautification and enhancement to create a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for residents and visitors alike; and WHEREAS, a resident-owned Florida Not for Profit Corporation, Bound by Beauty, Inc., has expressed a commitment to contribute services to support the beautification efforts surrounding the Library by installing Native Plant Demonstration Gardens (the "Library Beautificatio n Proposal"); and WHEREAS, the Library Beautification Proposal, as further outlined in the attached Exhibit A, aligns with the goals and values of the Village, promoting civic pride, environmental stewardship, Florida native plants education and experience, and community involvement; and WHEREAS, the donation of services by Bound by Beauty, Inc. will greatly enhance the visual appeal and overall atmosphere of the areas surrounding the Village Library; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to formalize an agreement to facilitate the implementation and acceptance of the Library Beautification Proposal and ensure its successful execution; and WHEREAS, the Village Council authorizes the Village Manager to enter into an agreement with Bound By Beauty, Inc. in a form approved by the Village Attorney, for the implementation of the Library Beautification Proposal; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the Village to accept such generous donations and support initiatives that contribute positively to the community. 5th March
