The wood termite damage was mostly in the ceiling wood rafters.
I checked all the rooms and hallways, and marked up the members to be reinforced as per the signed and sealed
structural repair documents.

Dear Mr. Naranjo:
Thank you for your additional i�'put and time regarding this matter.
Please consider the following with regard to our Addendum #4 Permit Revisions submission:
1) Weber Hall is non-sprinklered.
a. This was clarified by the submission and review of the Addendum #1 — Permit Revisions dated March, 5th
2019. Weber Hall is currently permitted based on Addendum #1 and the subsequent Addendum #2 dated
April 10t1, 2019.
b. Weber Hall does have a Fire Alarm System and Fire Hose Cabinets.
2) Construction Type= IIB per Chapter 6.
a. Previous Weber Hall renovation projects set the precedent that the Construction Type is 1113. It is also
CannonDesign's assessment that the Construction Type is 1113.
i. Previous Weber Hall permit submission projects that set the Construction Type as IIB:
1. The 2012 Weber Hall Restroom Renovations #CC12-811
2. The 2014 Weber Hall Common Area Renovation (Phase 1)#CC14-2030
ii. The actual largest floor plate is less than the allowable area requirement for Construction Type 1113
per Chapter 5:
1 . The allowable area requirement for Construction Type IIB for a non-sprinklered R-2
Occupancy Type per Table 506.2 is 16,000 SF.
2. The largest floor plate of Weber Hall is Level 01 at 21,011 SF.
3. Using the Allowable Area Factor equation 5.3 in section 506.2.4, and the Frontage
Increase equation 5.5 in section 506.3, the Allowable Area Factor for Weber Hall is 28,000
SF.
4. Therefore 21,011 is less than 28,000.
iii. Per section 602.2, all of Weber Hall's Building Elements listed in Table 601 are non-com busti ble,
excepting the wood roof trusses. However, the wood roof trusses are supported by concrete
beams, and have a non -fire rated Gypsum Board Thermal Barrier on the underside.
3) Section 803 of FBC Existing Building - Building Elements and Materials
a. Per Exception 11 for R-2 Occupancies, Existing Vertical Openings not exceeding (3) stories are only
required to have a 30-minute fire rated enclosure. The project is exceeding this requirement by providing I -
hour enclosures from the basement through the 1 st floor, and from the 1 st floor through the 2,d floor.
b. The roof of Weber Hall is non -occupied and not considered a story. Since the project is Construction Type
1113 and the roof is not fire rated, the penetrations to the interstitial space through the 2nd floor gypsum board
thermal barrier ceiling, are not fire rated.
