The Roof -to - wall connections were observed through an open section on the roof. Below are our findings. At some places, the roof -to -wall connections were missing. We recommend those missing places be retrofitted with the roof -to -wall connections as mentioned below to comply with FBC 2017, Section 708.8.1 Wood framing members consisting of 2"x 4" trusses @24"oc and 5/8" Plywood sheathing STL straps not less than 1/8" by 1" to concrete tie beam through single steel straps nailed with 2 to 3 1Od nails on one side and one nail on other side shall be supplemented with Nu Vue or Simpson Tie's HGAM-10, or equivalent right angle gusset with 4-3" x 1/4" dia. Tap cons and 4-1-1/2" wood screws to one side of truss for compliance with the minimum uplift capacity of +500 pounds as specified in the Florida Building Code Existing Building Manual Section 708.1 for site -built single-family residential structure.
