ORDINANCE NO. 2023-06
AN ORDINANCE OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF
MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, AMENDING
THE VILLAGE'S CODE OF ORDINANCES BY
AMENDING CHAPTER 2, "ADMINISTRATION,"
AND CREATING SECTION 2-1, "OFFICIAL SEAL,"
TO ADOPT THE VILLAGE SEAL; PROVIDING FOR
CONFLICT; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY;
PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING
FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, the Village Council (the "Council") of Miami Shores Village, Florida
(the "Village") finds it periodically necessary to amend its Code of Ordinances (the
"Village Code") in order to update regulations and procedures to implement municipal
goals and objectives; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 165.043, Florida Statutes, a municipality may by
ordinance adopt an official municipal seal to be affixed on all official actions or
documents and to identify and authenticate documents; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to adopt the Village Seal (the "Seal") by
amending Chapter 2, "Administration," of the Village's Code and creating Section 2-1,
"Official Seal;" and
WHEREAS, the Council finds that this Ordinance is in the best interest and
welfare of the residents of the Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE
COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:1
26 Section 1. Recitals Adopted. That each of the above stated recitals is
27 hereby confirmed, adopted, and incorporated herein and made a part hereof by
28 reference.
29 Section 2. Amendment To The Village Code. That Chapter 2, "Administration,"
30 of the Village Code of Ordinances is hereby amended as follows:

61 any reason, be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the
62 validity of the remaining sections, sentences, clauses, and phrases of this Ordinance,
63 but they shall remain in effect, it being the legislative intent that this Ordinance shall
64 stand notwithstanding the invalidity of any part.
65 Section 5. Codification. That it is the intention of the Village Council and it is
66 hereby ordained that the provisions of this Ordinance shall become and be made a part
67 of the Code of Ordinances of the Miami Shores Village, Florida, that the sections of this
68 Ordinance may be renumbered or re-lettered to accomplish such intentions, and that
69 the word "Ordinance" shall be changed to "Section," or other appropriate word.
70 Section 6. Effective Date. That this Ordinance shall become effective
71 immediately upon adoption on second reading.
