opened by explaining the history of Brockway Library and describing
the architecture on Tropical Florida Style homes. Limestone, coral, and brick
exterior materials. Long low buildings, three chimneys.

Mr. Bramson stated that this is 1 of 4 libraries’ that are municipally
owned and operated.
Mr. Bachay stated that Robert was an associate of Edward for single-
family homes to mimic this similar style. The style of Florida modern
tropical was enclosed and open at the same time.
Mr. Bachay stated some precedent studies that are shown all around
Miami by the same architectural style. A lot of presence of legion
houses. The interior designer was also significant to the design as well.
The librarian (Michelle) explained that the interior had to be altered in
order to accommodate more book donations.
Ms. Katherine (President of the board of trusties) from the time of
commencement has been a focal point of Miami Shores Village. On the
70th Celebration is to be in-time for the anniversary.
Motion to approved by Mr. Bramson Seconded by Ms. Bonaduce 5-0
Between May and June, the estimated timeline for the historic
designation plaque.
4.B. Brockway Library 10021 NE 2nd AVE- Historic Marker
Mr. Bachay stated that the Marker should go to a public entity instead
of a private entity.
The marker is a lengthy process for approval and then the language is
going to be reviewed as well as the limit of characters are factored in to
approve the marker.
Motion to approve by Mr. Bachay, Seconded by Ms. Bonaduce. 5-0

Code Modification of Historic Section: Change of Procedures for Historic
Designation
Proposal to the council meeting by Ms. Bonaduce, Ms. Hasbun stated that a
discussion item was sent to the council and the feedback was to take a step back
to reflect on the review process and now the village council stated to start
drafting a language to move forward to the legal department and update that
ordinance. Also, it has to go twice to the village council. Mr. Saadeh asked if it's
going to be reviewed in the next council meeting, to which Ms. Hasbun stated
that not in the next meeting but which ever meeting it is discussed in, that would
be considered the first reading. Ms. Bonaduce stated that she clarified to the
public that there was a misconception about the Historic Preservation Board,
Ms. Bonaduce stated that we always ask the consent of the owner if they would
like to designate the home. It will be an invitation and not forcing anyone to
designate the home. In Miami Shores Village there is never a forcing factor to
designate the home although Miami Dade County does enforce it.
Update of the Village Hall Marker
Ms. Hasbun stated that there was a permit approval for the Historic Marker, and
we are still waiting for the date of unveiling. Also, waiting on the
contractor/company that can make it happen on the day of.

The board would like to coordinate the first week of May to start the celebration.
Ms. Headley asked if city council will be present, and Ms. Hasbun stated that it
will be coordinated.
Mr. Bramson stated to document all buildings 1941-1981 mostly within the county
for a special task from the architects that he is working with. For properties that
are significant to the Shulmans. On March 29th Mr. Bramson, asked the board to
speak with him at an open panel discussion over the history of Miami.
Mr. Bachay will be hosting Sunday, May 7th will have a walk around tour for
Miami Shores Village.
6.ADJOURNMENT
The board may consider and act upon such other business as may come before it. In the event this agenda must be revised, such revised
copies will be available to the public at Village Hall.

individual may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evid ence upon
which the appeal is based.
