HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES

1) CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Bonaduce called the meeting to order at 6:30pm.

3) ACTION ITEM(S)
3.A Approval of the Minutes for November 16, 2022.
Ms. Headley approved the minutes, seconded by Mr.Bachay
The motion was approved unanimously 4-1 with Mr. Bramson requesting time to review the minutes.

3.B Certificate of Appropriateness Application
Property Address: 548 Grand Concourse
Property Owner: Matthew Vander Werff and Ashley M. Abess
Modification to approved plans to add a second floor based on original design plans.
The owners Matthew Vander Werff and Ashley M. Abess were present and requested for a certificate of
appropriateness for the home on 548 Grand Concourse. Board and owners discussed the
modifications and length.
Mr. Bramson approved seconded by Ms. Bonaduce with 5-0 with conditions by Ms. Bonaduce of the
following which include:
- The free-standing columns to match the existing
- add scoring to differentiate the addition
-add parapet to the left side of the rear elevation
-add window to the right side of the rear elevation addition to match
-colonnade to match the style of the front pilaster
-west side add a round window to match existing elevation to align with interior staircase

4) DISCUSSION ITEM(S)
Guidance for the historic village hall marker was spoke about by Ms. Bonaduce and Ms.
Hasbun asked for a date suitable for the installation before May, 2023. The board agreed
to have it as soon as possible. Staff reported the status of the community church
marker.
Ms.Headley presented two options for the bronze plaques. Board agreed on option 2 with
changes to the word build to built. Board agreed to provide the plaques to the two latest
designated homes and any new designations.
Mr.Saadeh and Ms.Headley spoke about sending to the board the latest historic designated
property resolution and the code regarding the specific requirements on how to record
the designated property.
The board agreed to present code changes to council to have an expeditious designation
process.
Motion by Chair Bonaduce seconded by Ms. Headley approved 5-0.
Board requested to staff to add item to the next agenda to discuss declaration for
designations of residential homes.
Board also requested to staff for a budget for one more marker.
