This office has been notified that the above contractor has installed bucking at the above property
and has been asked to provide an inspection and approval/evaluation for newly installed bucking as
displayed in figures below:
A virtual inspection was performed by Axiom Structures on September 19", 2022, on the bucking
installed on the doors and windows to compare with the requirements in the Florida Building Code.
Upon virtual inspection of the bucking, the contractor provided pictures displaying the conditions
of the wood buck installed for the doors and windows to be fastened, displayed in Figures 1 to 10.
Based upon these photos, it was verified that the shims utilized were lx shims and are acceptable
according to FBC 1715.5.4 & FBC-R612.10.2. Masonry, concrete, and others structural substrate.
Where the wood shim or buck thickness is less than 1-1/2", window and door assemblies shall be
anchored through the main frame or by jamb clip or sub frames system, in accordance with the
manufacturers published installation instructions. Anchors shall be securely fastened directly into
the masonry, concrete, or other structural substrate material. Therefore, anchor spacing was
approved, and the products would be fully supported by the bucks as per FBC requirements.
Our review of project construction documentation and virtual investigation performed on this date
have concluded to the best of our ability that the bucking anchors have been satisfactorily installed
in accordance with the respective product approvals, and the minimum requu ements of the 2020
Florida Building Code 7" Edition as requested by the client. Verification of work completed under
permit has been performed by others, with the exception of our visual examination of the anchor

placement and spacing. Final approval of all work is at discretion of the governing municipality.
