Mr. OHara explained there are various properties on North Miami Avenue that have the side of the property
facing North Miami Avenue. Claudia explained front setback dictates the front of the property. Therefore, the
front of the property will face 99 Street.

6) BOARD MEMBER COMMENTS
Brady spoke about the county allowing for auxiliary housing development. Municipalities are not allowed to
prohibit (ancestry dwelling units). Village Attorney said she would research and get back to Mr. Brady regarding
any preemption
Brady encouraged Council to continue informing the public about the Comprehensive Plan.
Bolton spoke about the increasing size of the homes in Miami Shores. Asked the board if they would like to
schedule a meeting to discuss FARs. Ms. Hasbun replied by explaining that a timeline will be created. However,
the zoning code review will encompass such discussion, which will transpire after the Comp Plan. This does not
preclude the board from discussing such topic affecting single-family homes in the meantime.

JBolton/DB- for staff to bring forth processes regarding the review of FARs and lot coverage requirements
affecting single family homes and Zoning in progress clarification and when it's triggered for board
consideration. 4-0 best practices as well.
Busta recommended for Council to jointly meet with PZ Board to discuss such matters.
