Pozzi – (Updates) • The front driving range tee will be renovated and replanted with Bimini grass, a new type of Bermuda grass • We estimate the project will take about 12 weeks including the grow-in, depending on weather conditions • During the first couple of weeks after sprigging the driving range will be open with intermittent closings to water the sprigs • The front driving range tee will be limited to the artificial turf only till the beginning of October • A new ice / water dispenser has been ordered and should be here within 30 days • We have been looking at various options to replace the furniture on the deck, possibly using highboys A. Pozzi for B. Griffith – What about installing boxes with the divot sand on the par’s 3 A. Pozzi – • We will install boxes with divot sand on the white tees and will monitor usage • We are having a difficult time managing tee time reservations during peak times, members are making multiple tee time reservations 10 days in advance and in some instances there is not a full member playing in every group. Our pro-shop staff will be addressing this issue individually with members to assure fair access to tee time reservations for all members with the expectation that everyone will abide by the rules. If we do not succeed, we will have to limit the bookings and members will only be able to book one foursome • Toying with the idea of a weekday membership, on the expectation that those members that only play during the week will be better served • Will set some restrictions on the Junior memberships so that will not be on the same footing as full members as it relates to advance tee times during peak times T. Septembre – How many new members from New York or New Jersey? A. Pozzi – • About 20 members since December • The food and beverage business has been good, but has been hampered by staff shortages • We did a golf and membership dues rate survey which confirmed that Miami Shores Country Club offers the lowest membership rates in our market area New Business: M. Gallo – Congratulations to young Strickland on his hole in one R. Strickland – Thank you M. Wilcoxen – The ladies association members are down in numbers, hoping next year to have an association again next year T. Septembre – What are you doing for the First Tee program? A. Pozzi - We do not have the capacity, space, or instructors to run a proper First Tee program at this time T. Septembre - Why is it so difficult to find instructors C. Baetzel – • The teaching professionals make more money with private lessons than teaching junior camps • Asked 8 former campers to be counselors and all of them said no • This summer we have had to limit the junior camp to 12 junior campers I. Fajardo – Maybe put the job posting in the Egret A. Pozzi – We will do that for next year T. Septembre – We have an issue with the parking in front of the club and the blocking of the handicap access A. Pozzi – Yes, we do.
