HISTORIC PRESERVATION MEETING MINUTES

1) CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Castellanos called the meeting into order.

3) ACTION ITEM(S)
3.A Approval of the Minutes of January 14, 2021
Motion to approve the Minutes of January 14, 2021 made by Mr. Castellanos, seconded by
Ms. Bonaduce and the Motion was approved 3-1 with Mr. Bachay abstaining.

3.B Recommendation for a certificate of Appropriateness for 349 NE 93 Street
The Board congratulated the owners for the improvements made to the property.
Local designation for this property not national designation. The Board asked questions.
Architect Hugo Mijares was present and proceeded to present the project.
The windows are being changed to impact windows. Mr. Mijares gave more details about the changes to
be made.
The Board asked about the scope of the changes being made.
Garage conversion will require additional parking spaces per Staff.
Ordinance stipulates that two parking spaces be provided at the property.
It is the Board's opinion that the circular driveway is a good addition.
The driveway will be a brick driveway. The Board appreciates the uniqueness of this property.
The Board had discussion about the project and the landing on the west elevation.
The awnings will be maintained on the property.
Motion to approve with condition that the windows will match the existing windows, the
driveway be made out of Chicago brick, and there needs to be a door on the side by Ms.
Bonaduce, seconded by Bachay and the Motion was approved 4-0.

4) DISCUSSION ITEM(S)
Discussion by the Board regarding the packages being submitted needing revision.
The Board discussed May being National Historic House month.
Ms. Bonaduce discussed her voluntary tours being done by her with the support of the Village
Library and to benefit the Library.
Historic House of the month will be done in the month of May.
There was the proposition of Historic markers (cost of around $2,000.00 each) to recognize the
Historic houses.
Next meeting will be to discuss the changes on the letter to go to the Historic houses.
Staff will work with the Board regarding the Certificate of Appreciation to the Historic
homeowners.
