The manufacturer and model number of the outdoor and indoor units (if split system) shall be submitted along with the sensible and total cooling capacities at the design conditions described in Section R302.1. This code does not allow designer safety factors, provisions for future expansion or other factors which affect equipment sizing. System sizing calculations shall not include loads created by local intermittent mechanical ventilation such as standard kitchen and bathroom exhaust systems. R403.6.1.1 Cooling equipment capacity. Cooling only equipment shall be selected so that its total capacity is not less than the calculated total load, but not more than 1.15 times greater than the total load calculated according to the procedure selected in Section 403.6, or the closest available size provided by the manufacturer's product lines. The corresponding latent capacity of the equipment shall not be less than the calculated latent load. 3/3/2016 9:10 AM EnergyGauge® USA - FlaRes2014 - Section R405.4.1 Com Page 2 of 3 i . • X FORM R405-2014 MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS - (Continued) R403.6.1.1 Cooling equipment capacity. (continued) The published value for AHRI total capacity is a nominal, rating -test value and shall not be used for equipment sizing. Manufacture's expanded performance data shall be used to select cooling -only equipment. This selection shall be used to select cooling -only equipment. This selection shall be based on the outdoor design dry bulb temperature for the load calculation (or entering water temperature for water -source equipment), the blower cfm provided by the expanded performance data, the design value for entering wet bulb temperature and the design value for entering dry bulb temperature. Design values for entering wet bulb and dry bulb temperature shall be for the indoor dry bulb and relative humidity used for the load calculation and shall be adjusted for return side gains if the return duct(s) is installed in an unconditioned space. Exceptions: 1. Attached single- and multi -family residential equipment sizing may be selected so that its cooling capacity is less than the calculated total sensible load but not less than 80 percent of that load. 2. When signed and sealed by a Florida -registered engineer, in attached single- and multi -family units, the c9Qilcity of equipment may be sized in accordance with good design practice. •0:0 • R403.6.1.2 Heating equipment capacity • • • • ' .' ; • ; • . • R403.6.1.2.1 Heat pumps. Fla. Stat. § 440.05 allows corporate officers in the construction industry to exempt themselves from this requirement for any construction project prior to obtaining a building permit. Pursuant to the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation Employer Facts Brochure: An employer in the construction industry who employs one or more part-time or full-time employees, including the owner, must obtain workers' compensation coverage. Corporate officers or members of a limited liability company (LLC) in the construction industry may elect to be exempt if. 1. The officer owns at least 10 percent of the stock of the corporation, or in the case of an LLC, a statement attesting to the minimum 10 percent ownership; 2. The officer is listed as an officer of the corporation in the records of the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations; and 3. The corporation is registered and listed as active with the Florida Department of State, Division of Corporations. No more than three corporate officers per corporation or limited liability company members are allowed to be exempt. Construction exemptions are valid for a period of two years or until a voluntary revocation is filed or the exemption is revoked by the Division. Your contractor is requesting a permit under this workers' compensation exemption and has acknowledge that he or she will not use day labor, part-ti employees or subcontractors for your project. The contractor has provided an affidavit stating that he or she will be the only perso allowed to work on your project. In these circumstances, Miami Shores Village does not require verification of workers' compe ation insurance coverage from the contractor's company for day labor, part-time employees or subcontractors.
