Florida Law requires Workers' Compensation insurance coverage under Chapter 440 of the Florida Statutes. Fla. Stat. § 440.05
allows corporate officers in the construction industry to exempt themselves from this requirement for any construction project prior to
obtaining a building permit. Pursuant to the Florida Division of Workers' Compensation Employer Facts Brochure:
An employer in the construction industry who employs one or more part-time or full-time
employees, including the owner, must obtain workers' compensation coverage. Corporate officers
or members of a limited liability company (LLC) in the construction industry may elect to be
exempt if
1. The officer owns at least 10 percent of the stock of the corporation, or in the case of
an LLC, a statement attesting to the minimum 10 percent ownership;
2. The officer is listed as an officer of the corporation in the records of the Florida
Department of State, Division of Corporations; and
3. The corporation is registered and listed as active with the Florida Department of
State, Division of Corporations.

allowed to be exempt. Construction exemptions are valid for a period of two years or until a
voluntary revocation is filed or the exemption is revoked by the Division.

(GDO-1 2083/NGT/1 0). Grease Review disapproved- For 210- For new or existing food service establishments
connecting to sewers, the following information shall be provided in plans for compliance with MDC Section 24-42.6:
1) Plumbing plans shall LEGIBLY be signed/sealed/dated by a Florida Registered -Professional Engineer MDC Code
Section 24-42.6(8)(a).
2) Plans shall show all required fixtures discharging to the grease interceptor.
3) Sizing calculations per MDC-Section 24-42.6(9) shall be provided.
4) Show calculations, and indicate pump out frequency (POF).

results at the third party certified flow rate of the proposed grease interceptor showing the pounds of grease

information for the 99% removal efficiency.
7) Provide a manufacturer specification detail/cut sheet of the proposed GI.
8) A solids interceptor shall be provided prior to existing or proposed FOG control devices that require a flow control
device or that are not certified to handle solids. MDC Code Section 24-42.6(8)(u). Separation shall be captured at all
FOG discharge sources. Provide the manufacturer specifications for the solids separator/interceptor. Proposed
solids interceptor shall matched the calculated/peak flow.
9) Plans shall include sampling point detail specifying the details and dimensions of the design. Proposed sampling
ports shall be provided by a manufacturer MDC Code Section 2442.6(8)(h).
