2020-07-01 HPB Minutes 1 Mayor Crystal Wagar Vice Mayor Alice Burch Vice Mayor Sean Brady Councilman Stephen Loffredo Councilman Jonathan Meltz Tom Benton, Village Manager Richard Sarafan, Village Attorney Ysabely Rodriguez, Village Clerk HISTORIC PRESERVATION MEETING MINUTES DATE: July 1, 2020 TIME: 6:30 PM Zoom Meeting 1) CALL TO ORDER Chairman Castellanos called the meeting into order. Chairman Castellanos spoke about the Quasi- Judicial Virtual Hearings rules adopted in accordance with the Florida Governor's extended Executive Order 20-69 and 20-112, Florida Statutes Chapter 252, and 120.54(5)(b)(2) in order to prove for quasi- judicial virtual meetings of the Village Council and quasi-judicial Village boards. 2) ROLL CALL Present: Ms. Bonaduce Ms. Headley Chairman Castellanos Absent: Mr. Barker Mr. Bramson 3) ACTION ITEM(S) 3.A Certificate of Appropriateness for 284 NE 96th Street 284 NE 96 Street - HPB - Certificate of Appropriateness.pdf Mr. Todd Leoni and Architect Arturo Fanjul were present and wished to present. Existing house is the same as original outside. There is going to be interior remodeling. A master suite on the East Side & Courtyard for existing pool. There will be only one window modified in the back. Ms. Bonaduce added that this is a great addition to the property. The Board made similar comments as to the changes being proposed. Architect Fanjul made additional comments as to what is being proposed. The Roof is same material as original (Spanish Style tile). Stucco will be smooth stucco finish. Chairman Castellanos made comments and asked questions. Architect Fanjul explained the elevations of the new building and renovations being proposed. Mr. Castellanos made a condition for approval that the windows should be consistent with the rest of the house. Mr. Leoni answered that the renovations should take approximately 6-8 months depending on permit approvals in order to finish the project. 2 Chairman Castellanos added that this is a nice addition. Village Clerk, Ysabely Rodriguez said that there were no e-comments to report. Mr. Kendall reports there were no letters of opposition from the community. Motion to approve the Certificate of Appropriateness made by Ms. Bonaduce, seconded by Ms. Headley and the Motion was approved 3-0. Motion Carries. 4) DISCUSSION ITEM(S) Mr. Kendall spoke about our next Historic Preservation Meeting being dependent on the situation with Covid-19. Mr. Kendall said that if we receive a Certificate of Appropriateness for the Board to review and approve he will coordinate with the Board to have a meeting. No meeting scheduled until then. Information will be provided as it comes in. Board member’s comments. There was no public comment. Mr. Kendall and the Board discussed the letter being finalized. 5) ADJOURNMENT The meeting adjourned.
