A. MATERIALS

2. ACCESSORIES SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A-36.
3. ALL REBAR, ALL SIZES, SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A-615, GRADE 60.
4. ALL TIMBER PILES SHALL BE GREENHEART AND SHALL BE GENUINE GUYANA DEMERARA GREENHEART
(NECTANDRA RODIOEI), CUT FROM TIMBER STANDS IN THE ESSEQUIBO RIVER VALLEY. THE GREENHEART
TIMBER SHALL BE OF EXPORT GRADE B, AND COMPLY WITH ASTM D-25-79 SPECIFICATIONS. THE
GREENHEART SHALL REMAIN UNTREATED. PILES SHALL GENERALLY BE 12—INCHES IN DIAMETER WITH
A MINIMUM BUTT CIRCUMFERENCE MEASURED AT 3 FEET FROM THE BUTT END OF 44 INCHES.
5. WHERE NOT OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, ALL LUMBER SHALL BE SOUTHERN PINE INC. 1 DENSE. PRESSURE
TREAT WITH CCA TYPE C TO 0.60 LBS. RETENTION. FOLLOWING TREATMENT, AIR DRY ON STOCKS 30 DAYS
MIN. AT AMBIENT CONDITIONS, 30-35% MOISTURE CONTENT. SUBMIT CERTIFICATION OF WOOD PRESERVATIVE
TREATMENT FROM THE MANUFACTURER.
6. IPE WOOD FROM BRAZIL SHALL BE 1 X 5-1/4 PRE-MIUM BC, RDS: EACH BOARD SHALL HAVE TWO 2-1/4"
LONG #10 SCREWS PER STRINGER.
7. HARDWARE: ALL HARDWARE SHALL BE STAINLESS STEEL (304SS) AS DESIGNATED ON THESE DRAWINGS.
BOLTS SHALL CONFORM TO ASTM A-325.

STRUCTURAL NOTES
1. CONCRETE PILES SHALL BE DRIVEN TO A MINIMUM BEARING CAPACITY OF 25 TONS
AND A MINIMUM DEPTH OF EMBEDMENT OF 15 FEET INTO FIRM MATERIAL.
2. TIMBER PILES SHALL BE DRIVEN TO A MINIMUM BEARING CAPACITY OF 10 TONS
AND A MINIMUM DEPTH OF EMBEDMENT OF 10 FEET INTO FIRM MATERIAL.
3. SILT BARRIERS: FLOATING SILT BARRIERS SHALL BE INSTALLED AROUND ALL GRADING
OPERATIONS AND AROUND PILE OPERATIONS (PREDRILLING PILE HOLES OR PILE
DRIVING), WHERE NECESSARY, SUCH THAT ALL REQUIRED TURBIDITY LIMITS AS
DESIGNATED BY ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATORY AGENCIES ARE MAINTAINED.
