HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING MINUTES
DATE: October 23, 2019 TIME: 6:30 PM COUNCIL CHAMBERS
1) CALL TO ORDER
Travis Kendall, Planning and Zonin€ Director gave a brief introduction and directed the Board to
conduct the selection of Chair xid Vice Chair.
2) ROLL CALL

Absent: Ms. Catherine Salow
Also present: Travis Kendall, Planning and Zoning Director

3) ACTION ITEM(S)
3.A INTRODUCTION OF BOARD MEMBERS AND APPOINTMENT OF BOARD CHAIR
Mr. Castellanos made a Motion to serve as the Historic Preservation Board Chair; Seconded by
Ms. Michelle Headley and the Motion was approved 5 -0.
Mr. Castellanos made a Motion to select Mr. Seth Bramson as the Historic Preservation Board
V,,ce Chair, Seconded by Ms. 1V! ichelle Headley and the Motion was approved 5 -0.
3.13 APPROVAL OF THE FEBRUARY 26, 2019 MINUTES

Motion to approve the Minutes made by Mr. Bramson, Seconded by Mr. Castellanos and the
Motion was approved 5 -0.
4) DISCUSSION ITEMS)
4.A TBD BY THE BOARD
Board members introductions took place at this time.
There was discussion by the Board and Staff regarding the procedure that needs to be followed in order
to designate more homes as Historic properties.
Ms. Bonaduce proposed to have a Historic House of the month as incentive for the home owners. She is
very enthusiastic about coming up with ways to designate more homes as Historic homes.
Mr. Bramson proposed for the Board to search for Shore land Company homes, the builder of some of
these Historic homes.
Mr. Barker had clear ideas of the different things that the Board can do in order to establish a process to
designate Historic homes. He emphasized the fact that we do not have a process yet.
Staff proposed to have a workshop to discuss these ideas and allow the residents to hear what the Board
has in mind regarding the Historic homes.
Mr. Castellanos asked Staff to send out an email with more information for the Board.
To be discussed next meeting: Identification process to implement, Criteria to follow, identifying the
homes.
Next meeting will be Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 6:30 PM
