NOTICE OF REQUIREMENTS
RESIDENTIAL SWIMMING POOL, SPA AND HOT TUB SAFETY ACT
I (We) acknowledge that a new swimming pool, spa or hot tub will be constructed or installed at
Saio NE 9-7 SV" Miami Shores, FL, and hereby
affirm that one of the following methods will be used to meet the requirements of Chapter 515,
Florida Statues and the Florida Building Code R4101.17.
Please initial the method(s) to be used:
The pool will be equipped with an approved safety pool cover that complies with ASTM
F1346-91. (Submit Manufacturer's Specifications).
A continuous, one-piece (child) barrier meeting the requirements of Florida Building Code
R4101.17.1.15 will protect the pool perimeter. The plans shall show the fence location and method of
attachment, including one end that shall not be removable without the aid of tools. (Submit Manufacturer's
Specifications).
A combination of non -dwelling walls and fences (screen enclosure, child fence, masonry
fence walls, chain link or wood fence, etc.) will protect the pool perimeter. The plans must specify the type
and location of all non dwelling walls. Florida Building Code, R4101.17.1
1/ Any combination of protection which incorporates dwelling walls with openings directly into the
pool perimeter and all windows and doors will be equipped with exit alarms complying with Florida Building
Code, R4101.17.1.9 (Submit Manufacturer's Specifications).
Any combination of protection which incorporates dwelling walls with openings directly into the
pool perimeter and all doors will be equipped with a self -latching device with positive mechanical
latching locking installed a min. 54" above the threshold. If this option is selected, submit plans showing all
types and location of all perimeter protection. The plans must also show the location and type of all
openings, and the hardware type for each location. (Submit Manufacturer's Specifications).
In accordance with the Code, the pool may not be filled with water without compliance with the
Private Swimming Pool Safety Requirements; and upon expiration of the permit, the pool shall be
presumed to be unsafe. I understand that not having one of the above installed will constitute a

OPERATION
The Safe Pool is designed to a loud alarm alert when children
enter through a Safe Pool protected door / gate. When
properly installed, the Safe Pool will allow adults to pass
through the protected door / gale without triggering the alarm,
and then automatically reset to resume protection for children.
The Safe Pool is always in the protection mode. The alarm
mode will activate the moment the sensors detect the door /
gate to opening more than 1 inch. The unit will then sound its
high output 120 dB alarm siren in approximately 3 to 5
seconds if the "Pass / Reset' button is not pressed. Once the
alarm begins, the alarm will sound continuously until the
'Pass / Reset" button is pressed.
When passing through the door / gate from the side with the
alarm, press the "Pass / Reset* button, then open the doorl
gate, pass through and then close the door / gate within 10
seconds. The unit is now reset and does not. sound the at
When passing through the door / gate from the side without
the alarm, open the door, pass through, then press the "Pass
/ Reset" button within 5 seconds and close the door. The unit
is now reset and does riot sound alarm.
MAINTENANCE
When the alarm volume becomes tow, or the unit does not
produce a normal strong alarm sound, replace the battery.
Be sure that the rubber seal is in good condition. If the
rubber seal is not installed properly, rain or water can enter
the uAR and cause the alarm to malfunction
The Safe Pool's plastic re$ists ultraviolet rays from direct
sunlight, however, slight discoloration over time is normal.
CAUTION
THE SAFE POOL ALARM IS EXTREMELY LOUD. FOR
YOUR SAFETY, NEVER PLACE THE UNIT CLOSE TO
YOUR EARS. TO TEST THE ALARM, DIRECT THE UNIT

INTRODUCTION
. ngratulations on your purchase of the TELKO Safe Pod
model S087 safety alarm. The Safe Pool can be used to
provide a high volume alarm alert when children have
L-Mered a potentially dangerous pod or spa area. The S087
:2n be used outside on the wood or metal gates or inside
on doorways leading directly to potentially dangerous ayes.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS
• The alarm siren is very loud, never place the unit dose to

The Safety Pod can provide valuable protection when
utilized correctly. However, it cannot guarantee
complete protection against accident or injury.

INSTALLATION
NOTE: Before installing the battery, using a piece of tape or
a rubber band, temporarily, fox the two sensors together with
the arrows pointing towards each other to avoid sounding
the alarm during the installation of the battery and mounting
of the unit, The 'Pass / Reser button can also be held or
taped down to keep the unit from sounding the alarm when
the sensors are separated.
INSTALLING BATTERY
1. Remove the badx plate of the unit and install a fresh 9 V
battery (Fig, 1).
2. The unit is now -ON', and in the working mode. To test
the alarm siren, separate the sensors more than 1 inch
and then place together again The alarm voll sound after

Mounting the sensors:
When installed properly, the arrows on each sensor will be
pointing towards each other. Using the double sided tape or
the screws provided, mount the sensor with the wire
connection from the alarm unit to the door frame so that it
will be less than 1 inch from the mounted sensor as shown
in Fig. 3.
OUTSIDE ON WOODEN GATES
Using the provided mounting template in this, manual, mark
the position of the screw hole. Install the screws with
approximately 1/8 inch of tread left stowing. Slide the unit
over the screws and down as shown in Fig. 2. You may
need to adjust the screws in or out slightly to provide a
secure fit.
Mounting the sensors:
Using the screws provided, mount the sensor with the wire
connection from the alarm unit to the gate frame so that it
will be less than 1 Inch from the gate mounted sensor as
show In Fig. 3.
OUTSIDE ON .METAL GATES
.Using the provided nylon wire ties, attach the alarm body to
the metal gate frame. (Fig. 4)
Mounting the sensors:
Break off the tabs on the side of each sensor (Fig. 5.). Place
the sensors into the sensor housing, making ,sure that the
arrows on the sensor and the sensor housing are pointed in
the same direction. Snap the sensor spacers Into the sensor
housing with the tape towards the outside. Using the
provided nylon wire ties• attach the sensor with the wire
connection to the gate frame so that it will be less than
1 inch from the gate mounted sensgr.(Fig. 4)

When attaching the sensors to metaf gates,.you must place
the Included spacers between the sensors and the metal
surface to maintain the sensitivity of Ole sensor.
