Advisory Board Meeting Minutes -July 31, 2019 Advisory Board Meeting Wednesday, July 31, 2019 Present: B. Brown, M. Gallo, M. Mennes, R. Marando, P. Rajo, C. Baetzel, R. Strickland and A. Pozzi Meeting was called to order at 5:35 pm The Advisory Board minutes from June were approved A. Pozzi – • Membership billing will be mailed out at the end of August. There are no rate changes other than a slight increase in the Executive Membership • Reintroduced the Burger Night, last Thursday we had a great turnout and everything went very smoothly. We plan to feature it as a pop-up event every 3 or 4 weeks R. Marando – The fish and chips are always overcooked M. Gallo – People are asking for a snack / tapas menu A. Pozzi – We will discuss the snack / tapas menu with our culinary staff and see what we can come up with P. Rajo – If you are a member you should be in the GHIN system A. Pozzi – • There are different price points for our various membership categories because each has different privileges • The Executive Membership was created as an entry level category geared towards those golfers that do not play a lot of rounds and it does not include all the amenities of the full golf membership. Executive members may elect to purchase handicap, locker or bag storage services separately. New Business: R. Marando – Many of the golfers are asking for a new ice maker and water dispenser to replace the existing dispenser located outside the proshop A. Pozzi – • Although the current dispenser does provide the ice service for the golfers we have looked at ice machines / dispensers and one that has the adequate capacity will cost nearly $9,000 installed. We will include it in our capital / wish list for the upcoming fiscal year. • The Clubs’ capital requirements far exceed the $100,000 contractual obligation and our ability to allocate sufficient funds to address all our capital needs and wants. I estimate that by the end of this fiscal year we will have spent over $160,000 in capital and probably could have spent ten times that amount M. Gallo – • The beverage cart should have a credit card swiper • We would like a shelf on the south side of the lounge to put a drink on A. Pozzi - • Currently there are no remote credit card swipers on the market that are PCI compliant and compatible with our P.O.S. system. We believe adding credit card swipers would be advantageous to our beverage cart service and would increase our sales; however we do not want to risk a breach • Will look at the area and see what the options are for the shelf P. Rajo – • Why don’t you publicize the capital improvements the Club is making in the newsletter? • The 1st tee line needs to be repainted A. Pozzi – • Capital improvements are part of our contractual obligations and are required to maintain a viable business. We do not feel it is appropriate to boast about them and don’t think if anyone cares if we replace an a/c unit, bought new golf course equipment, replaced all the banquet tables or refurbished the dance floor • We will make sure the 1st tee line is repainted M. Mennes – There is a new fox on the golf course B. Brown – When is the next aerification? A. Pozzi – • Greens will be aerified the Tuesday after Labor Day. Fairways will be verticut that same day and aerified the week after • We have hired an outside contractor to verticut the fairways, at a cost of $12000. We expect this deep verticut will allow us to take the fairways to the next level C. Baetzel – • We are verticutting the back range • We had a good turnout in the last tournament, Dr. and Mr. Stokesberry won • Camp is going great • The format for the Labor Day tournament will be plant your flag R. Strickland – No comments No meeting in August The next meeting is scheduled for September 25, 2019 Meeting adjourned at 6:55 pm
