Advisory Board Meeting
Wednesday, January 30, 2019
Present: M. Wilcoxen, M. Griffith, M. Mennes, T. Halloran, C. Baetzel, H. Orlin, R. Strickland and
A. Pozzi
Mr. Pedro Rajo – phoned into the meeting
Meeting was called to order at 5:36 pm
A. Pozzi -
• Our last Advisory Board meeting took place on November 28, 2018
• The cart path work has been completed
• New ball washers and receptacles have been installed on the golf course
New Business:
M. Griffith –
• Came to the Club for lunch and dinner and the service has been excellent
• Nice to see Israelite got a promotion to Bartender
• How has the Thursday Night kids eat free promotion been?
A. Pozzi – will evaluate the Thursdays to see if we will continue the kids eat free promotion
M. Wilcoxen –
• The final of the Wilcox Tournament will be played tomorrow
• New ladies with a Premier Membership are joining the ladies golf association
• Austin is a big help running the Ladies Golf Association
M. Mennes –
• Did not see the new ball washers when I played on Tuesday
• Came to a birthday party on Thursday night and the food was excellent
• Are the clay tennis courts going to be resurfaced?
A. Pozzi – Signed the invoice for the new ball washers, will look into it
H. Orlin – Starting the resurfacing project on Saturday and Sunday
T. Halloran –
• International Links golf course will not be in business much longer
• Working on getting people to join the Club
• Riviera Country Club does a Burger and Beer night and it is very successful, is that something we
can do here?
A. Pozzi – We will look at the possibility of scheduling one
P. Rajo – On the phone
• Certain areas of 3, 11 and 12 fairways are very weak
• There are a lot of divots on the fairways
• 5 teams have signed up and paid the for the member guest tournament as of today
A. Pozzi – Weak areas on the fairways and divots are a result of heavy traffic. We will rope those areas off
to reroute cart traffic
C. Baetzel –
• Staff are filling divots were golfers do not
• The member – member golf tournament finished in January and there were 3 or 4 matched that went
extra holes
• The consolation round was rained out
• The member guest tournament is scheduled for March 2, the entry fee is $300 a team
o Included in the price per team are range balls, dinner on Friday night and contests
o There will be 4 flights
• There will be no mats on the driving range, we now have the same turf as Doral Country Club
H. Orlin –
• The junior programs have started again
• Membership is up and there is a lot of hourly play
• Planning to launch pickle ball, with a demo match on March 9th
C. Baetzel –
• The Big Game party is on Sunday
• Austin Smith is now US kids certified instructor
R. Strickland – No Comments
