FIRST BUDGET HEARING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 3, 2019 6:00 PM COUNCIL CHAMBERS
1) CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Wagar called the meeting to order at 6:02 PM.

Councilman Sean Brady was absent.
4) PUBLIC HEARINGS
4.A A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE LEVYING OF AD VALOREM TAXES FOR MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Ms. Rodriguez read the entire resolution into the record, detailing the proposed operating
millage rate of 7.9 mills and the proposed increase over the rolled-back rate, which is greater
than the rolled-back rate of 7.4169 mills by 6.51%.
Mayor Wagar opened the public hearing, but as no one wished to speak on the proposed tax
increase, Mayor Wagar closed the Public Hearing.

Councilman Loffredo moved to approve the Resolution, adopting the tentative levying of ad
valorem taxes for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. Vice Mayor Burch seconded the motion.
There being no discussion, Mayor Wagar called for the vote to approve the resolution, which
carried a 4-0 voice vote.
4.B A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE, FLORIDA,
ADOPTING THE TENTATIVE BUDGETS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019-2020; PROVIDING FOR
AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
Ms. Rodriguez read the entire resolution into the record, detailing the proposed budgets for
fiscal year 2019-2020.
Mayor Wagar opened the public hearing, but as no one wished to speak, Mayor Wagar closed
the public hearing.
Councilman Loffredo moved to approve the Resolution, adopting the final budgets for fiscal year
2019-2020. Councilman Meltz seconded the motion.
There being no further discussion, Mayor Wagar called for the vote, which carried a 4-0 vote in
favor of the motion.
5) ADJOURNMENT
There being no further discussion before the Village Council, the first budget hearing adjourned
at 6:10 PM.
