As per the agreement that you and Tom Benton, the Village Manager agreed on, I was
going to call you and set up a meeting with you in order to go over to the residence
located at 36 N W 101 Street and took over the electrical outlets in the kitchen and advise
you, if the outlets need to be upgraded to the code.
We cannot issue the kitchen permit submitted by you on May 31, 2007 until this matter is
resolved. It is my intention to work with you in this matter and help you resolve the
permitting issue as soon as possible, but if you do not call me and set up a time to meet
with me at the above mentioned residence, I can not make a determination to help you
complete the permitting process.

Dear Mr. Volpe,
After our meeting today with Michael Devanie, the Chief Electrical Inspector, yourself
and 1, it was determined that the outlets in the kitchen do not comply with the National
Electrical Code. The items stated below are required to be done by a Licensed Electrical
Contractor under a separate electrical permit. These items are:
l . The wiring for the Range shall be a 4 wire receptacle and have a cover, installed
in a location that is recessed in the back of the Range.
2. Finish the installation of the microwave outlet inside the cabinet above the Range.
3. All outlets in the countertop area are required to be GFI protected. Three (3) of
the Five (5) are not.
4. Identify the breakers in the electrical panel that pertain to the kitchen area.
As I mentioned to you at the meeting, the electrical permit and the kitchen cabinet permit
shall be issued at the same time. Therefore until we receive the electrical permit
application from the contractor, we will place the kitchen cabinet permit on hold.

Compliance office once the necessary corrective actions have been completed and the violation has been
corrected. In order to correct the violation, you must undertake and accomplish the remedy in full.
If the above -described violation is not corrected and approved by the Miami Shores Code Compliance Office by
the deadline set forth (or if it is corrected but recurs), you are required to appear before the Miami Shores Village
Code Enforcement Boad at Village Hall, Village Council Chambers 10050 N.E. Second Ave., Miami Shores
Village, FI, at 6:00 p.m. on 03/08/2007.
