RESOLUTION NO. 2019 -14
A RESOLUTION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF MIAMI SHORES
VILLAGE, FLORIDA, SETTING TENTATIVE OPERATING AND DEBT
SERVICE AD VALOREM MILLAGE LEVIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019-
2020, BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2019, AND ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
2020; SETTING THE TIME, DATE AND PLACE FOR THE TWO PUBLIC
HEARINGS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 2019 -2020 OPERATING AND
CAPITAL BUDGETS AND PROPOSED AD VALOREM MILLAGE RATES.
WHEREAS, the Miami Shores Village Council is required to comply with all of the regulatory provisions
identified in Section 200.065, Florida State Statutes, which delineate the presentation of proposed
budgets and ad valorem tax levels; and,
WHEREAS, the Village Council, having received and reviewed the Proposed FY2019 -2020 Budgets, held a
Council Workshop on Tuesday, JUly 9th,2019;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MIAMI SHORES VILLAGE COUNCIL:
Section 1. A tentative ad valorem tax levy for Miami Shores Village of 7.9 mills is hereby adopted as the
Village's proposed operating ad valorem tax levy for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2019.
Section 2. A tentative total debt service ad valorem levy for Miami Shores Village of 0.4009 mills is
hereby adopted for the Village's voter - approved debt service levies. The individual debt service levies
required to fund Fiscal Year 2019 -2020 obligations are 0.1604 mills for the aquatic center and 0.2405
mills for the charter school general obligation bonds for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 2019.
Section 3. The Miami Shores Village Council will conduct the two mandatory public hearings in
compliance with Section 200.065, Florida State Statutes, on the Proposed FY2019 -2020 Operating
Budgets and Capital Budgets, and correspondingly setting millage rates for the new year, with the
first public hearing on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at 6:00 PM and the second and final public
hearing on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers of Miami Shores
Village Hall, 10050 N.E. 2nd Avenue, Miami Shores, Florida.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 16th day of July 2019.
