Site plan review for a new single family home. Public Comment Open: Ms. Tracy Bitton of 271 NE 95 Street was present and wished to give her opinion about this project. Ms. Bitton does not believe that this house proposed is compatible or harmonious with the surrounding areas in Miami Shores Village. It does not fit in with the neighborhood. Public Comment Closed Motion to table until July 25, 2019 hearing made by Mr. Daniel Brady, Seconded by Ms. Irene Hegedus and the Motion was approved 3 -1 with Chairman Busta voting against it. VII) CONTINUED ITEMS: None Vlll) ACTION ITEMS: PUBLIC HEARINGS; 1. Proposal for the Planning and Zoning Board to consider municipal best practices concerning creating flexibility in the Villages code relating to on -site parking requirements, potentially reducing or eliminating required parking. Staff gave an introduction about the items brought before the Board per Council's direction. The Board discussed spoke about the proposal. The Board has a consensus never to eliminate parking. 2. Proposal to amend the sign code to allow for an active marquee sign for the Miami Theatre Center. Staff spoke in support this proposal. The Board does not think this is a good idea for many reasons. Manual Marque to consider instead of proposed per the Board. 3. Review of current B-2 zoning designation of downtown properties and potential rezoning to restricted commercial from B -2, to align the zoning code with the comprehensive plan. Staff gave the Board a brief overview of the B -2 zoning designation of downtown properties to re- zone as restricted commercial from B -2. There was discussion amongst the Board members about this subject. Staff will draft the changes in the Code and bring back to the Board. 4. Regulations for fences on commercially designated properties. Mr. Kendall gave a brief overview of the fence proposal on commercial designated properties. Staff believes is a good idea to amend the current code to permit such fences. The Board is in agreement with amending the code. Staff will draft the code ordinance and bring it before the Board next hearing.
