ESTIMATE
We will supply all of the labor, material and equipment needed to install a new Ipe wood
sundeck adjacent to the new swimming pool over the grassy area to be level with the pool coping
and the concrete covered patio. This area measures approximately 700sf. The framework will
be #1 marine grade pressure treated pine that will be attached to the patio concrete slab and the
masomy beam of the swinuning pool. The perimeter will be a double 2" x 8". The stringers are
2" x 8" spaced 20" apart and supported with 4" x 4" posts set 2' deep into a concrete footings at
8' on -center on each stringer with a i/a" tbru bolt at each connection. The 5/4" x 6" #1 grade
(FEQ) Brazilian Ipe decking will run north and south on the framework adjacent to the patio and
east and west in the smaller area with a 45 degree turn and splice board. It will be attached using
an hidden Ipe clip fastening system on the side of grooved decking. The decking will be
carefully cut around each of the (2) pool skimmer lids. Any incidental chipping of concrete that
may be required is included. The finished product will be a natural color. Stains or oils are not
included.
Bid Price: $25,000.00
Conditions:
I. No electrical or plumbing is included in bid.
2. Requirements or restrictions of the city, county or state (governmental agencies) may
change this proposal. Until preliminary plans are submitted, the exact configuration
cannot be confirmed. Any changes will be made in writing with your approval.
3. In the event that this project is not started for any reason within (12) months of the
contract date the price will increase by 10%.
4. If you have an HOA, an approval must be obtained prior to submitting plans to any of the
governmental agencies.

6. In the event that this contract is cancelled by the owner, for any reason, and a refund is

construction of this deck, the owner has the option to cancel the contract for this
reason only at no penalty/cost (less expenditures to date for permitting).

GENERAL NOTES:

PILE DRIVING:
1. Pile driving operations shall be observed by a special inspector, including test piles sufficient to determine the
approximate length required to meet design capacity.
*2. Piles shall be driven using an approved cushion block consisting of material so 'arranged so as to provide the
transmission of the hammer energy.
3. Piles shall be driven to required capacity a minimum of 8' into berm.
4. Piles shall be driven with a drop hammer or gravity hammer provided the hammer shall weight no less than 3,000
pounds, and the fall of the hammer shall not exceed 6'.
5. Piles shall be driven with a variation of not more than inch per foot from the vertical, or from the batter line
indicated, with a maximum variation of the head of the pile from the position shown on the plans of not more than
three inches.
6. Where piling must penetrate strata offering high resistance to driving, the structural engineer of records or special
inspector may require that the piles be set in pre -drilled or punched holes. The piles shall reach their final penetration
by driving.
CONCRETE NOTES:
1. Concrete shall conform to ACI 318 (latest edition) and shall be regular weight, sulfate resistant, with a design
strength of 5000 psi at 28 days with a maximum water-cementitious materials ratio, by weight aggregate concrete
of 0.40.
2. Owner shall employ and pay for testing services from an independent testing laboratory for concrete sampling and
testing in accordance with ASTM.
3. Licensed contractor is responsible for the adequacy of forms and shoring and for safe practice in their use and
removal.
