09-25-2013 Regular Meeting n a K Advisory Board Meeting Wednesday,September 25,2013 Present: H. Spahn,M.Wilcoxen,L. Mennes,M. Mennes,M. Gallo,B.Brown,R. Chavez, T.Allison,H. Orlin,R. Strickland and Alberto Pozzi Meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm Minutes for June Meeting Approved As Read A.Pozzi—Introductions of the new additions to our staff • New Controller Nicole Adams • Rick Chavez who replaced Roberto as the Restaurant Manager(Roberto got an opportunity to own a restaurant on Miami Beach) A.Pozzi— • Plans to renovate the lounge were postponed as we discovered major structural problems which necessitated emergency repairs needed to be done immediately • Completed mold remediation and renovation of men's locker room • Purchased a 70"inch TV for the lounge • Golf Course maintenance staff finished the summer maintenance schedule with only cosmetic work remaining(edging bunkers,cart paths,tree pruning,etc.) • Installation of new bunker sand will be completed by the end of October • The Ladies locker room will be painted and all the furniture will be refinished • The membership renewals are coming in at a good pace—As of yesterday 62%renewed New Business: H. Spahn— • Had dinner here last Friday and it was very well done • Music was outstanding • This is my last Advisory Board Meeting,not planning to rejoin the board M. Wilcoxen— • Opening lunch for the ladies association is October 10 • Hope to get some new members to join the Association • Mrs.Jaffe is the Vice President of the association • Trace and Chris help to set up the carts in the mornings which is a big help for us L.Mennes • A lot of new tennis members • New Womans Team that play on Tuesday and Thursday • New Clinic on Wednesday mornings that is very well received • The Courts are in great shape M.S.C.C. Brown— • Had a great summer • Going to rejoin the Advisory Board • Love the new golf carts M. Mennes- • Appreciates the work that is being done • Should send someone from the proshop around 10 am to check to see if there are people fishing • #17 bunker does not have any sand • Ballwashers have been good A. Pozzi- • We are going to be proactive in looking for trespassers,call the pro shop if you see anybody that does not belong on the Golf Course • The new carts have cell phone chargers M. Gallo— • Excited about the new TV • On October 26`h,Doctors Charter School is having a rummage sale,please come and support the school • On October 4'h,the school is having a having a tablet fundraiser at the City Hall restaurant, $100 a ticket H. Orlin— • The after school programs are very well received • Has a new development program in the mornings for kids,that are homeschooled • Has a new night program on Thursdays • Did a resurface of the courts at the end of August,courts are in great shape • Going to get the information ready for the holiday camp A. Pozzi—Had the most successful junior summer camp ever R.Chavez— • Very big on the training and the development of that staff to know the menu and the ingredients of the items • Working on a new concept for the NYE Gala,to have theme rooms. One room playing 50 and 60's music,one room playing disco and the lounge to have Jazz music. Will have plenty of seating in different spots • Happy for the opportunity T.Allison— • The new carts are very nice • October 11 is the Archbishop Curley golf tournament • October 27'h is the tournament for Tri Delta which benefits St. Jude's Children hospital R. Strickland—The next meeting is scheduled for October 30th With no further business,meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m. M.S.C.C.
