02-29-2012 Regular Meeting - if Advisory Board Meeting Wednesday,February 29,2012 Present: L. Mennes,M. Mennes,B. Brown,M. Gallo,T.Allison,C. Mavrakis, R. Strickland and Alberto Pozzi Meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm New Business: A.Pozzi— • Eliminated the Food and Beverage/Club House Manager position • Chris will assume responsibility for the dining room and food operations,Pavel will assume responsibility for all beverage&lounge operations as well as entertainment • Change accomplishes significant savings in payroll,had duplication in responsibilities • Seafood buffet was well received and well attended • St. Patrick's Day Dinner Dance is scheduled for March 16 • We were planning a member guest golf tournament and had poor response —not sure if the price of $250 per twosome was too high,the entry fee included 18 holes of golf,lunch,beverage cart service,dinner,open bar and prizes • A big thank you to Mr. Gallo for his idea of the Saturday Afternoon Junior Clinic,it has been very well attended,his efforts are appreciated M. Gallo— • After attending the clinic,his son's swing is better • Maybe we should advertise in the Egret that goes out to the Shores Residents • Rework golf clinic flyer • Unity Day is this weekend,we should have a booth there M. Mennes— • Golf Course is in terrific condition • Bag guys do a great job,but they do get stiffed a lot from the players L. Mennes— • People trespass a lot • Courts look good From Howie: • As we head into march,we have met our expectations in most areas of our operations,and although our morning play is not what we had hoped it would be at this point,we have witnessed a steady increase in member and guest play • Our instructional base continues to rise,and we are currently preparing for our spring break and summer camps • Our Adult Competitive Ladder kicks off after the Sony Ericsson in Key Biscayne,and response and sign up has been quite encouraging • Our vision is to offer the finest programming and provide events to all our members and our guests M.S.C.C. Allison— • We continue our efforts to remove people fishing on the canal as they interfere with golfers • Several people have been infonned that they are trespassing and next time police will be called • 10 players are signed up for the Club Championship • Had 10 couples participate in the Valentines tournament B.Brown— • Had a great time at the Seafood Buffet • Carts have been cleaned • Wanted to fix the divots,but the sand bucket on the carts were empty • Should have fresh water on ball washers A.Pozzi— • Trace spoke with the college coaches and J&W volunteers every Friday to ride the course and fill divots R.
