ADVISORY BOARD
MEETING MINUTES
NOVEMBER 26, 1997
PRESENT: HERB SPAHN, BABS MEYER, ERNEST UPTHEGROVE, LINDA
MENNES, ANGIE NIEHOFF, MARK CARPENTER, ALBERTO POZZI ,
AND MIKE WALSH
EXCUSED: LEON NEWMAN
REVIEW OF LAST MEETING MINUTES
MEETING STARTED AT 5: 35 p.m.
1 ) Alberto welcomed the newly appointed advisory members.
2 ) The greens will be overseeded again due to wrong amount
put down the first time.
- Superintendant Rick Hill replaced by Joe Bambino
3 ) Herb Spahn commented on the curbing put around cart paths
near tees and greens look very nice and should help control
cart traffic.
4 ) Mark Carpenter commented on the list of renovations needed
or that need to be added to make this facility more attractive
to potential members and the outside public. He will present
this list to the Board in the next meeting for discussion.
5) Linda Mennes complimented Alberto Pozzi in assisting in
improvements with the clay courts
- Commented on collecting monies from guests and enforcing
rules for tennis members and their guests .
6) Herb Spahn suggested that prior to going to a soft spike
rule for the golf course that there should be signage posted
and verbage used prior to going to soft spikes when the greens
are renovated in 1998 .
- Couples events for golf need to be modified either by price,
dates or times . Mike Walsh will address this with selected
golf members to improve participation.
7) Ernest Upthegrove said that the Board needs to take a more
active roll in the membership drive. Many ideas were brought
to the Board which will be further discussed in later meetings.
8) Babs Meyer said that the #9 tee box for the ladies needs improve-
ment. Alberto agreed and said that the ladies will use the
men' s tee box until the renovation is complete.
