MEETING MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 24, 1997
PRESENT: DOUG LINDHEIMER, CHAIRMAN,LEON NEWMAN, HERB SPAHN,
BABS MEYER, MR. LACOMBE, ALBERTO POZZI, AND MIKE WALSH
EXCUSED: THOMAS LONGMAN, ERNEST UPTHEGROVE
REVIEW OF LAST MEETING MINUTES
MEETING STARTED AT 5:30 P.M.
1) Alberto Pozzi said that membership is up from last year at this time. We will see its progress in
the next meeting.
2) Alberto commented on the course conditions and its improvements in the following ways:
a) The sand bunkers will be completely renovated late September then the perimeter sodded
when they are finished.
b) #14 bunker located behind the green will be turned into a grass bunker.
c) The greens will be aerified then fertilized to help bring back the greens.
3) Alberto addressed the Board in regard to the renovation of the greens for next year and would
propose to the Village Council a rent percentage increase in exchange for a three month
abatement of the rent. Members would receive premier card privileges along with reciprocity
with other nearby clubs.
4) Mary Newman suggested a different flavor of ice cream for dinners. Alberto will look into
other flavors carried by the suppliers.
5) Babs Meyer commented on the water fountain located near#13 green. Alberto will look at
this situation and fix if necessary.
6) Herb Spahn suggested the Pro Shop staff ride the golf course to examine any adverse
conditions on the golf course and mark them appropriately. Mike Walsh will address this with
the Pro Shop staff.
7) Herb Spahn said that the #5 pump is not pumping the water levels low enough and has
affected the areas near the canal. Alberto and Mr. Spahn will take a look at this problem. It
was also suggested by Mr. Pozzi that the time of season has affected the water table levels.
8) Herb Spahn said that the soups served during lunch and dinner are not consistent and

suggested that a manager taste the soups before they are served. Mr. Pozzi will address this
request.
8)Herb Spahn suggested that if Miami Shores C.C. does renovate the greens whether or not
there is a possibility of going spikeless. The Board agreed of the positive points of a
"Spikeless"course. It will be further reviewed in a later meeting.
9) Doug Lindheimer addressed the situation of range hitters wearing the appropriate dress. Mike
Walsh will address this with his staff.
10) Doug Lindheimer suggested having sodas available earlier in the AM. Alberto will look into
this situation.
11) Mr. Lacomb suggested distributing a membership booklet to the members.
12) Mr. Lacomb commented on the pine trees on the west side of the tennis courts need to be
cut back.
13) The people that are on the golf course who are not supposed to be ie. bikers, rollerbladers,
joggers etc. should be told not to for their safety. Alberto the PCM staff is responsible for
the patrolling of the golf course and will do its best to rectify the problem.
